@HistoPol While we are making comparisons between the US & Germany's fascism, I think it would be wise to point out that the German liberals voted to give Hitler power rather than work with the true left.
In the US, the true left was quashed as part of a New Deal bargain, and our liberals are willingly "compromising" with the fascists in a pretense of statesmanship.
The author is wrong to claim that the social construction of whiteness is a "view." It's a historical fact: most European immigrant groups -- Irish, Italians, Slavs, etc -- were explicitly NOT considered white when they first began arriving to the US. It was only when they had adopted the racism of "whites" *and* became demographically convenient that they were allowed into whiteness.
Why is the icon for LO Math missing from the logo?
I get that it's a niche program, but it's pretty cool. When I was teaching math overseas several years ago, only LibreOffice was able to write the equations I needed for tests. You folks made it easy and it looked professional, too.
Interesting that they don't just repeat "following our leader," but also "following our party." That seems to strike against the cult of personality that we're told they worship.
Could you, please, link me to what he said/did? I don't follow them, but I want to know what happened so I can give appropriate support to our black comrades.
When I had a course on feminism, back in the 90's, it never mentioned any critiques of capitalism. It seems that alternatives were quite taboo then. I'm glad to see those critiques being revived by the younger generations.
The 1st Cold War never ended. US officials promised repeatedly not to expand NATO as the USSR was dissolving, and broke those promises almost before their next breath.
Simultaneously, we've been supporting fascists in Ukraine since WWII. So, NATO in Ukraine was seen as an existential crisis on Russia's doorstep.
Add fascist attacks on ethnic Russians in Donbass, & you have merely a continuation of WWII. Thanks, America.
I wish that they'd put country over self & party too, but that's not how they operate. Dem leadership has been kneecapping younger potential leaders for years. Whether that's because they are clinging to power or just so ideologically committed to the capital class that they'd rather break the party than allow new ideas to take the helm, the outcome has been the same.
That's an amazing turnaround considering that they were on the brink of bankruptcy. A friend who works for AMD told me it was only the settlement AMD got from Intel over the kickback scheme that allowed it to survive. (It was that Intel scheme that put them at the brink, btw.)
Dr. Su did a great job leading them out of that crisis too.
@HistoPol Thank you. I'm appealing and gave them the links to the exact song I used in the appeal, but they still rejected it. The decision came so fast that I'm sure they didn't check the info I provided, so I don't want to stay there.
If I can figure out Blender (and have time) I'm considering making an English educational channel.
I made an intro video for myself as an ESL (Eng 2d Lang) teacher. Taught myself how to do basic video editing and added royalty free background music. Posted to YouTube, who, of course, says it's a copyright violation. I'd rather post on PT anyway, but need to set up an account.
Eventually, I may turn this into an ESL dedicated account.
The more I try to be a decent human being, the further left I'm pulled. Antiwar both philosophically and practically.I critique both Repubs & Dems. If you cannot defend your side without accusing people of being a bot, or are otherwise uncivil, then I'm not the person you want to talk with.
