Wie lustig. Bereits seit dem 20.04.2016 werden alle meine Beiträge aus dem #Fediverse zusätzlich auf einem #WordPress gespiegelt. Den ursprünglichen #Friendica Server gibt es heute nicht mehr. Der war irgendwann zu klein und ist auf eine größere Maschine umgezogen.

Die Idee dazu war ganz einfach: Sollte etwas ganz, ganz schreckliches mit dem Server passieren, dann habe ich immer noch eine 1:1 Kopie meiner öffentlichen Beiträge, die ich hier erstellt habe 😎

Randnotiz: Das Blog ist damit älter als #Mastodon 🤪.

This noob is testing the interconnectivity of the #Fediverse:

The word out there on the Fediverse make it seem as if all the different tools (Mastdn/P-tube/Lemmy/etc.) can interact with one another. But this is not the case, as some work both ways, whilst others only one way, or at all.

**So made accounts & been testing for past few weeks:**

Some people get replies and just do not engage at all....

Like, what is the point of posting to social media if you're not even gonna be SOCIAL?!?🤦♂️

Especially Fedi, cause it's not like we have some dumb ad service that pays you for views...You ain't making money here unless you're posting off-platform links to buy stuff.

I just don't get it. It's social media. Not "shout to the void and ignore everyone" media.🙄

Well, I have deleted the Threads app. They don't seem interested in integrating in good faith, unfortunately. Therefore I don't see any point in advocating for them further.

Federate with them if you wish, but my first hand experience with their dev team has been completely in bad faith on their part...🤦♂️

Every now and then while browsing the Federated timeline, I'll come across that dumb troll who says something like "Fediverse SUCKS! There's nobody here!!!"

All I can think in that moment is, "oh yeah? Then who the fuck are you and why are you on my timeline?!?!"

🤦♂️people are so dumb. Don't post on a platform and complain about it unless you're trying to make the platform better.

There are some interesting improvements and some bug fixes in the latest #Friendica code. It seems to be worthwhile to upgrade libranet.de to the current development version. On my test node that code is running very stable.

I'll switch the git branch in 20 minutes. The database structure will be updated. So, this could enable maintenance mode for some time.

Okay maybe someone can/will open an issue in that Codeberg issue tracker above for Mitra and loop @pfefferle in too because I've got the distinct gut feeling that this problem is going to require an bug report at his #ActivityPub plugin's repo too, considering it appears that Mitra AND Socialhome aren't capable of responding to an #ActivityPub_Plugin powered #WordPress site with a reply to an article, and I've a sneaking suspicion this bug extends even further - probably into the space of #Hubzilla, #Friendica, perhaps #Takahe and the Pleroma/Misskey families of forks too - sad.

So just checked a couple of other platforms - This is not good - replies show up on the platforms and notifications go out to all of those cc'd but.... Poof! the replies just go into hyperspace never to be seen again - They're NOT showing up as replies / comments to the WordPress articles!!! - I'm sure more than a few #Fedizens have already discovered this the hard and most frustrating way. Yeah I don't think that plugin appears anywhere near that of a release candidate now. I'm sorry I hyped it up so much, taking the word of others without putting my fingers in the Jesus holes myself.

I'm not saying that it's not worth using at all if it only supports masto, but it's certainly not of Fediverse grade (ActivityPub) worthiness to mention if it doesn't work with most #ActivityPub powered #Fediverse servers.

I'm going to just let the powers that be attend to this matter. People get paid for this and I thought it was a well matured WordPress plugin by a salaried crew. I don't get paid for this and I do have paying work to do right now.

I guess I let my enthusiasm get ahead of me before bothering to actually thoroughly test it this time. I know for me, I won't be installing it on WordPress servers or advising people to do so until it actually works withthe majority of the plethora of #ActivityPub_Compliant #Fediverse, and not just masto, servers.

My work is done here - I really was enthusiastic about this, but that was apparently premature.

@mike 's contributions to #FOSS and #DeSoc go back much further than just the #ActivityPub portions of the Fediverse, well over a decade in fact, as the creator of #Mistpark, now #Friendica, and also #Zot6 and #Nomad, which promises to be a show changer for identity in the world of Social communications.

If only all fediverse apps work the same. Mastodon users can see Threads profile but Pixelfed can't. At least there's progress ...

Anyone know if Peertube, Misskey, Lemmy, Friendica and other activitypub apps can see Threads?

Meta's #Facebook, #Instagram, and #Threads are down due to outages. However, #Fediverse instances of #Hubzilla, #Friendica, #Mastodon, #Misskey (family), #Pleroma (family), #Pixelfed, are up and running, with everyone in the #ActivityPub network continuing with our digital lives. ^_^
