1. View of Bay of Bengal on a clear sky day, an hour before sunset. Waves were crashing gently, one such tiny wave is captured in the picture. Water is grayish blue reflecting the skies. In Hindi blue is neela. When I say I'm feeling blue in English it doesn't translate the same using the Hindi term for blue. Neela is just a color while blue is sometimes the state of mind, sometimes is the state of life. Look how the month has passed already and I'm still rambling about the colour blue. Hope you're all well and not so blue 💙

1. In Pondy, Christmas time is all about streets that are full of scintillating decorations and lit up houses. There's a palpable joy one feels walking around the streets and going to churches where you see people come with their families and spend time in this halo of warmth. In the photograph is the Sculpture of Virgin Mary holding young Jesus in one arm and sceptre in another. There's a warm glow above her head coming from the ceiling lamp and a star shaped decoration hanging from that lamp. On her feet are a bunch of red daisies flower arrangement. It's from Our Lady of Angels Church at Dumas Street, Pondicherry.

1. I've spent so much time in this church over the years and absolutely adore this sculpture. For me it is Jesus pointing to heart and saying go within, listen to that voice in quietude, and follow it. In Integral yoga, this is also the psychic center, the abode of one's soul, tiny spark of the Divine in all of us. I love how all spiritual thoughts across cultures have this common golden thread of looking within for answers. In the photograph is the Sculpture of Jesus Christ pointing at his heart with one hand. 1. 1. Learning is non linear. Life transforming lessons can come from regrets, loss as well as success. 2. Resilience is not defined by your ability to endure sufferings. You can take your time to process through pain at your own pace, & that's okay too. 3. We see the Truth through our own lens. Its hard to know what's happening in oneself let alone to know with certainty about others. Reserve your judgment. 4. Try not to gossip. It's a kind of unwarranted meanness and flashing sign of insecurity. Minding one's own business is shortcut to blissful life. 5. Stand for things you believe in, but be kind. Lot more solutions can be found if harmony is the true goal, not just being proven right. 6. Work sincerely, trust freely and love with an open heart. Don't let someone take away what's meaningful to you, it's okay to be an idealist. Romanticise your world because why not. 7. When you've extra, give. Never hoard. Share when life's kind to you. When it becomes kinder, give more. No joy comes closer to giving because of gratitude. You give because you're grateful not because you feel sad for someone. Give because you're happy and it makes you happier. Not just wealth, go give a smile.

Day 181 of Israel's continued terrorism, and genocide, and one comes across comments where people show "skepticism" over death toll of Palestinians. 30,000 isn't believable, sounds exaggerated. Is 20,000 okay then? What number is believable enough to jolt your indifferent conscience into acknowledging this crime against humanity? Even if you're as helpless as I am writing this, knowing no words can ease their sufferings, one must find in our heart some empathy & compassion for brave Palestinians

Every spring, people across India and Indians around the world celebrate Holi throwing colored water and powders on one another in joyous celebration. On this one day—the full-moon day of the Hindu month of Phalguna—societal rankings such as caste, gender, age, and status are eschewed in the spirit of making merry together, and everyone is fair game to be doused with color. Holi’s traditions vary throughout the country and have their roots in Indian mythology. In many places the festival is associated with the legend of Hiranyakashipu, a demon king in ancient India. Hiranyakashipu enlisted the help of his sister, Holika, to kill his son, Prahlada, a devoted worshipper of Lord Vishnu. In an attempt to burn Prahlada, Holika sat with him on a pyre while wearing a cloak that protected her from the fire. But the cloak protected Prahlada instead, and Holika burned. Later that night Vishnu succeeded in killing Hiranyakashipu, and the episode was heralded as a triumph of good over evil. In many places in India, a large pyre is lit on the night before Holi to celebrate this occasion.

@seanbala Sean this is everyday reality faced by many Indian women using social media. Some of my friends are influencers and I can't begin to tell how much harassment they endure or are forced to ignore. I was away from social media for many many years for the same reason. Tbh if this continues, I'll be happy to leave this space also. It's not worth my peace of mind. If I've to pick a battle, I would pick a worthy cause. Not some imbecile looking for attention. Ignoring isn't a solution either.
