@puniko@mk.absturztau.be A friend of mine recently changed their last name because it contained a ß, which they couldn’t enter on a lot of websites. Just German problems I guess… 😅

@puniko@mk.absturztau.be Well, recently I wasn’t able to reroute a UPS parcel because the website didn’t let me add ß as in "Straße" in the address field.
I don’t mind when Swiss people don’t use it in everyday language, but when I'm inconvenienced because someone doesn’t use it (or doesn’t let me use it) - e.g. in the postal service, where my parcel could get lost - I’m really pissed…

There's few things in tech that I find as unnerving as a countdown that's counting up.

I think the recent AI boom broke my ability of read German.

The German word for "as" is "als". When it's capitalized at the beginning of a sentence ("Als") it is homoglyphic* to "AIs". You don't want to know how often I'm confused by this...
