Wenn alle das selbe nutzen und alle das selbe tun, wird es schwierig Neues zu entdecken.
tun sie ja nicht... bzw. eben doch - fast alle kleben an Masto fest - :-(
Es ging ja hier um die Zukunft und die neuen Strategien des WEBPublishing und da fehlte mir hier der Hinweise dass WP da eine Krรผcke ist. Als CMS fรผr statischen Content ist WP natรผrlich nicht umsonst die Nummer eins... fรผr die Zukunft des social web ist das Plugin von @Matthias Pfefferle aber eben nicht ausreichend.
Eierlegendewollmilchsau ist ein Begriff der wohl aus Hilflosigkeit immer wieder in Bezug auf Hubzilla genutzt wird, der aber nicht den Nagel auf den Kopf trifft.
Es geht darum dass was die bekannten kommerziellen Plattformen uns in den letzten 20 Jahren antrainiert haben zu รผberwinden und um die Fรคhigkeit mรผndig mit der Hilfe von vernetzten Plattformen zu agieren. Ich kenne keine App die dazu umfassendere Werkzeuge bereithรคlt als Hubzilla. HZ ist eben nicht eine wahr lose Kreuzung von Gattungen sondern eine Zusammenstellung von Tools die notwendig sind wenn man von "Social Media" zu mรผndigen "Social Networking" gelangen mรถchte.

Wer es weiter mit old School Werkzeugen versucht kommt am Ende รผber einen gewissen Punkt nicht hinaus und hรคngt eben in der antrainierten Schleife fest. -

@Matthias Pfefferle das ist absolut Ok und viele freuen sich รผber Deine Arbeit aber wenn wir รผber die Zukunft des FEDI und das neue Webpublishing reden dann fehlt WP von der Architektur einiges und andere Projekte sind da einfach vom Kern besser aufgestellt...
Nun schauen aber viele nur auf WP und die Krรผcken die es in das Fedi Linkt und das ist einfach nicht nur gut... dass du dich darรผber freust ist verstรคndlich aber wir mรผssen dagegen halten... das verstehst du hoffentlich auch :-) -

@morph if โCrosspost to WordPressโ was not meant as a missing feature in the matrix but as a request, I would say that of course WP as a CMS has a lot more possibilities, especially because so many external plugins have been created over the years.
What distinguishes Hubzilla as a CMS is that Apps are also connected to the HZ permission system. In the Fediverse, you can therefore make specific content accessible to made contacts or not - no Nextcloud or anything like that necessary... This makes Hubzilla a CMS of the future.
In addition, HZ is independent of any interests of any IT companies.
Anyone who can create an HZ account on a hub immediately has various options for publishing content, as the matrix shows.
For example, you can run a blog very well with HZ alone... I don't need WP for that... and... with the nomadic identity function, everything can be transformed from one server to another with two clicks... this is simply not possible with WP. WP is old fashion.
For 80% of the people here, Hubzilla as a CMS would be absolutely sufficient and even better than WP.
Think about it. -

if you care and have a visual sense too than it is kind of obvious that that what we call the Fediverse is badly in need of an good working iconography.
The nice pentagram does NOT work in every situation and at any scale ... and in black and withe it does also not do a good job...

wasn't technically possible to receive messages from unknown contacts.
actually this is one of the advantages of HZ that you can have control over this... the default setting is that you don't receive this kind of messages-- yes
but if you really want receive messages from unknown contacts go to
/settings
select" custom role"
got to
/settings/privacy
an set under ADVANCED configuration
the permission:
"Can send me their channel stream and posts"
To
"Anybody authenticated"
and maybe also
"Can comment on or like my posts"
to
"Anybody authenticated"
or even
"Anybody on the internet"
With this last option you turn your HZ Channel to a Blog whitch can be commented by anybody on the internet and not just by fedi folks - can you do that with any other fedi app? No Fail at all -
