wasn't technically possible to receive messages from unknown contacts.
actually this is one of the advantages of HZ that you can have control over this... the default setting is that you don't receive this kind of messages-- yes

but if you really want receive messages from unknown contacts go to

/settings
select" custom role"
got to

/settings/privacy
an set under ADVANCED configuration
the permission:

"Can send me their channel stream and posts"
To
"Anybody authenticated"

and maybe also

"Can comment on or like my posts"
to
"Anybody authenticated"
or even
"Anybody on the internet"

With this last option you turn your HZ Channel to a Blog whitch can be commented by anybody on the internet and not just by fedi folks - can you do that with any other fedi app? No Fail at all
