There was a gal that I knew at an apartment complex that I lived in several years ago who got strung out on Hydrocodone. She told me that she wanted to quit, and I told her I could ween her off with Kratom, but she didn't believe me.
A few days later she knocked on my door looking like hammered shit dying of cholera. She wanted to try some Kratom. She was shaking and breaking out in cold sweats because she was already about 36 hours into withdrawal. She could barely walk.
I mixed her up a cup that was about three times the dose that I would take for Lyme pain.
She drank it without complaining (the powdered form tastes like a combo of dirt and lawn clippings), and about an hour later she said "OMG! I Feel fine now."
Kratom doesn't get you high like bonafide opiates do, but it hits the same receptors in your body.
I managed to gradually ween her off until she was normal again.
She was cute, and I didn't even try to fuck her. I'm rather proud of that.

I’ve only ever gone on binges earlier in life, for a few days at a time - never anything long-term. Had a couple funny black-out type events that were hilarious in retrospect. But I felt so wrecked that the last thing in the world I wanted was a drink, for a couple months. Oh and the time I had some beer and xanax - that was nuts; lost like six hours, came to eating chips and salsa playing SimCity2000 (or 3000? not sure) with no memory of how I got there.

Yeah I did a lot of drugs when I was in my 20's and it's all the same. It's a blast the first handful of times you use whatever it is, then when you get addicted you're just taking it to feel normal because anything beats withdrawl. I used to rotate drugs I'd use so I could come off painkillers or whatever while I was doing cocaine and drinking booze/smoking pot or something lol. What a waste of time and money that was. -

A long time ago, in my early twenties, I was at a party - a real honest to goodness straight up bacchanalia that would have made Keith Richards storm out in disgust - and people were mainlining heroin. They asked me if I wanted a hit, and I said "No. I'm afraid of the needle. It's too dangerous."
That's when the dude who brought it spoke up and said "Well, you're in luck. This stuff is very clean, pure enough to snort and get off."
So I did a line. About 20 minutes later a warm fuzzy euphoria enveloped me like an angel floated down from Heaven and wrapped me in it's wings. All I could think about for 2-3 weeks afterwards was getting some more. Good thing I didn't know any dealers at the time or I would have, and without a doubt I would have gotten strung out. -

That's why people get hooked because it makes life stop hurting and feel absolutely loved 😏 I heard it's never the same after that and they just continue hopelessly "chasing the dragon" from then on. And eventually you're only using it to feel normal instead of like you want to die with shivers, sweating, puking, shitting yourself. Absolute hell until you get "fixed". Then it becomes the apple of your eye and all that you think and talk about. Everything you wanna do has to have that as the centerpiece. How it was for my highschool best friend who got strung out on opiates. Haven't heard from him in a couple years or so. I assume he either got ahold of some fentanyl and died or committed suicide or committed suicide. I just assume he's dead. No way of knowing either. All he ever talked about towards the end was wanting to get a camper and go out to the middle of the desert and listen to coast to coast am with George Nori and do heroin. Got so annoying. I lived with him and his folks a couple times in San Diego. His parents sold their house and uprooted their entire lives to move him away from that stuff to Boise Idaho. He never left home to live on his own his whole life and his dad's a Vietnam vet and his mom's a Filipino he met and married during those years like boomers often do -
