I was losing a lot of sleep over someone close to me at death’s door for a long and protracted illness; a doctor took pity on me and wrote me a scrip for two weeks’ worth. It was positively a God-send. But I was warned to take it easy and avoid booze because of people ending up a hundred miles from home and shit. I obeyed. It worked. I can definitely comprehend the long-term risks.
