      I haven't noticed anything. But then given my preoccupations and attitude towards most stuff, I'm not really part of the in-group as far as I can tell. I'm just happy I haven't worn out the hospitality as a result. As far as I'm concerned you're doing a fantastic job and I couldn't really ask for more.

      @sun a lot of nearby friendly instances have died, most recently breastmilk.club and a chunk of interesting users are flocking to systems that use a lot of periods in usernames (there's a pleroma git issue for this...though i appear to have lost the link)

      -A lot of people here are just simply too different from each others, that's just how it is. I've actually hesitated bringing some people in from the outside because I know there's gonna be fights and I just simply didn't want to be responsible for that

      Not sure exactly when I joined SPC, but it was definitely "years" ago. I'd guess several, but didn't mark the exact date. Before that I was on a few other instances (and fedi networks) for some years, but it was more often those "try desperately to keep my mouth shut" kinda situations.

      @sun i don't see why we would want/need a clone of "the good old times" at this point. social circles tend to calcify and i think thats what youre recognizing. maybe fediverse is aiming to have infinite users but one instance cannot (or should not) get all the attention and activity. people feel comfortable coming here and microblogging in relative obscurity and imo thats the most it should be.
      who are we competing with? twitter and discord? mastodon? an idealized version of ourselves from 5 years ago? all of those are bullshit anyways

      @sun Times just change. The world is a different place than it was when you made SPC. Fedi changed too. A lot of the people that made the SPC "vibe" is gone. We're also missing a lot of the stupid shit that made SPC unique early on, like greentext, all the custom emoji we had, post numbers and so on, that we lost over time.

      SPC was a plainly amazing name too. SPW isn't bad, but SPC was "peak" as the youngsters say.

      I don't think there's anything wrong with SPW, it's just a different era. Maybe bring back the silly banners and such to encourage the community stuff that SPC had? it was fun to make stuff for the site

      @sun Jokes aside, I think we are moving towards a different era of the federation. We used to be part of the chaotic side but now we are in the middle. Some people left, others found their calling where being online was not enough.

      Speaking only for myself, being here made me want to be more creative with things I want to do. I've been learning how to use more tools and apply it for my posts or even my silly games. I hope this can be as inspiring to the others as it has been for myself.

      I actually joined up on NAS right after that switch. I never listened to the show, so dgaf about the wankers Curry/Dvorak or their drama. Main reason I don't use NAS is because a) SPW is home (NAS just a backup, in case shtf), and b) mastodong's ridiculous short character limit is a pain in the ass for my long-winded style of serious-posting.

      The current NAS does have it's silly "night crew" AI generated group fap's and so on. It's kinda cute. I was thinking it might be fun to try doing something similar for SPW but after giving it a moment's thought it just seemed too derivative. I like the quirkiness here, and don't feel like it has to try-hard to be anything it's not.
