Every single dream today was the exact same
Every 40 minutes or so i woke up from the exact same dream (continuation)

I was in the basement of some abandoned mansion (resident evil 1 style mansion but unlit) and i had a drill and i was trying to drill my way out of the mansion with a huge over a meter long super wide SDS drilling bit
The dirt was filled with granite so i had to repeatedly change my dulled drill bits

I had this dream on over 10 wake ups this night

i had main branch and not main branch which was like 9 days old or so
i merged not main branch into main

nowhere was there an implication that some file X on main originally created from nothing 8 days ago will be deleted or ignored or trotsky-ied

now the file X (in this case, a handful of small PNGs) is just gone, completely vanished, and its not even in the 8 day old commit

's just gone
but just that one batch of pngs in one specific folder

its gonna take me an hour to redo the sprites so ill just redo em

i shouldve trusted my work flow of "always make a new zip file when its time to do something on git" but i didnt

and now i pay the price

i just fucking did the satanic "merge" humiliation ritual and 6 sprites i made (8 days ago) are fucking gone, wiped from history, like they never even were there. but i know they were there, i have the fucking receipts (file import log files for game engine) that i dont git so i know they WERE there
