Glad to see my state of #California is one of the plaintiffs in this latest lawsuit against the government's #transphobia.

Hey @anildash - speaking as a RL friend of @ewhac, maybe you shouldn't imitate the tactic of those you're critiquing by speaking of "everyone" on Mastodon when you're replying to individual critics. 🙂

@anildash - As one of the many people who posted in the Mozilla thread, I agree that the "nobody wants AI in Firefox" sentiment expressed by the majority is incorrect. Clearly *someone* wants it. *I* don't want it, and made an account just to say so, along with urging that any AI features be *fully opt-outable*.

#SFBayArea folks: On October 7 I'll be speaking on a panel of #Wikipedia editors at the #SanFrancisco Public Library, North Beach.

Tonight's #SFBayArea #Wikipedia presentation went well, with good conversation topics and Q/A. Here are the slides for anyone interested:

Independent of my feelings on the #CharlieKirk killing - which I'll blog about soon - I strongly oppose #CapitalPunishment.

Promised blog entry on the killing of #CharlieKirk is now up:

As a Black trans person and longtime Mac user, it also doesn't escape my attention that white gay men like Cook appear happy to ignore Trump's blatant transphobia when it suits their bottom line. He can't truthfully claim to represent the LGBTQ community - which Apple has frequently been vocal about supporting, at least during Pride Month - while throwing the "T" under the bus.

As I commented on @pluralistic 's #Wikipedia essay, I was surprised but pleased to be named 2023 Media Contributor of the Year by @wikipedia co-founder #JimmyWales:

Good new essay by @pluralistic on Why #Wikipedia Works. Includes link to excellent tutorial by @molly0xfff. Can recommend as a Wikimedian of 17+ years.

In today's post for @medium, I discuss canceling #ParamountPlus after their rollback of #DEI, months before they canceled #StephenColbert.

In today's post, I urge readers and writers to stop supporting #Substack, a platform that knowingly promotes white nationalist content with literal #Nazi symbols.

@anildash - AfC might not have been as strongly recommended when I first started editing Wikipedia back in 2008. 🙂

@anildash

FWIW as a long-term Wikipedian I've never used AfC. I do drafts in my own userspace before publishing.

Today, Trump sued the state of California for "sex discrimination", citing five alleged instances of #trans girls competing in girls' sports alongside their cis classmates.

Five. In the whole state.
