The Republican lies aren’t just straight lies. They are insidiously evil. JD Vance, their VP nominee says the war in Ukraine should stop to stop the death toll. Except firstly this implies this is his reasoning and not that his paymasters paymaster is Russia and they are broken.

And secondly, most horrifically, it implies warring Russia is like a fight with France or Spain who have honour. A false equivalence. Russian occupation is hell. Ukrainians under Russian occupation are in hell. Russia is killing people in the occupied land. It’s genocide. ‘Peace’ with Russia is unending hostility to much of #Ukraine.

I actually think the Dems will win by a lot with Biden. Old media is getting more and more out of touch so their polls are too. It’s mostly just noise.

However it doesn’t spare Biden the criticism of being lame. And not doing something because it will be held against you is a stupid self-hamstringing idea. It internalises the Republican desire saving them the effort. Dems are stale and they need an AOC style fire and passion and actually bloody do something!

Once again for the non-science people. Solar radiation on the Earth surface has nothing to do with air temperature. It’s to do with atmosphere and how much it passes through.

The sun is higher in the sky in the UK at this time of year so it passes through less atmosphere. You can burn on what feels like a January because to the Earth it’s still June.

Air temperature and sunburn are correlated to the time of year but not causative one to the other.

I’m also annoyed with the German Chancellor Scholz who is suffering from mirroring. He is withholding support for #Ukraine because he’s worried about escalation.

Escalation is entirely a Western concept. Russia will always do as much as it thinks it can get away with.

Russia will also suffer from mirroring, so they might be assuming that NATO already has secret troops doing a lot in Ukraine when we are not.

This means Scholz is withholding, worried about escalation on a thing that Russia thinks is happening and is already responding to.

So there is a lot more we can do without consequence. All NATO air defences should be covering the East of Ukraine. The fact some drones even flew through NATO airspace unhindered is just so unacceptable.

“We value your privacy” is such a smart phrase because it’s
a) entirely true
b) implies they will protect it
c) doesn’t mention they will sell it

Interesting analysis that Russia’s target in the North East of #Ukraine is Borchchova. Getting this far and stopping allows them to put #Kharkiv in 25km shelling range.

Indeed. Some of your roads are super congested because they don’t work as roads. The aim of the road was to generate white jobs and destroy black neighbourhoods. Both one of ‘benefits’ with lifelong problems.

And again in the US EU readings, the US are taking about the circumstances of the false arrest while the EU say, “You can get just fired? We get two warnings in a HR review except if you do something really wrong. Getting fired for judicial support (and a trial is that) would be unfair and you’d be ‘unfairly dismissed’ and compensated to tens of thousands’.”
