"self-ownership" must be one of the most Orwellian forms of newspeak I've ever encountered.

Objects cannot own themselves. What they mean is you won't own a car and the 0.001% which the WEF represents will own all cars.

The Mastodon instance my account is on has been down a lot lately. I feared it wouldn't come back up. Perhaps time to get a new account, but where?

Preferably more on the free speech side, but not banned to all hell.

He recieved funding and created an AP/XMPP bridge. AFAIK it's still rough around the edges, but it exists.

@lain The fiat, interest-based monetary system requires it. Since money is loaned into existence and interest payments are expected on those loans. That interest must ultimately also come from loans, which themselves charge interest. You constantly need new debt to to pay interest on the old debt.

Actually it could very well be an IPv6 issue. I think that box doesn't support it and I'm not sure how to enable it.

Like you, I also thought about letting the XMPP-Nostr gateway send a "signing request" to the XMPP client so that the user can sign it. In the end, I decided against it, because the client *should* verify what it's signing, and if it does that, it actually understands Nostr and might as well construct the Nostr event itself, without the extra steps of a signing equest.
