The XMPP Network Graph at https://xmppnetwork.goodbytes.im shows how chat servers connect across the open #XMPP #federation. I'm occasionally checking the number of dots (servers) and lines (connections between servers). For the first time that I've noticed, that connection count is over 10,000!

The graphing engine is having a hard time rendering all of that. 😅

The XMPP Interop Testing Project is dedicated to ensuring that different XMPP server implementations can work together seamlessly. The latest release, made possible through support from the most excellent @nlnet funding program, has doubled the number of tests to nearly 1000!

If you're using the test runners, update! If you're a dev of a #XMPP server implementation that doesn't, consider adding one of the test runners to your CI/CD pipeline!

@jcbrand we have not considered it before, but I'm open. @claude is that something that you're interested in trying?

@jcbrand @claude @Goffi You're talking about https://libervia.org/ right? I've not used it before. I was under the impression that it's a self-contained solution, not so much a headless bridge to Mastodon. I'm not saying that that's bad - I'm just trying to figure out exactly what we'd be talking about. :)

Interesting! Is that based on empirical data? I had not looked at it this way.
