    I'm not okay when a FOSS software forces me to do my project FOSS and/or share whatever modification I do.

    On my side, part of my job is removing every single piece of software using GPL libraries because they are terrible for the software industry.

    So far so good by the way, thankfully the OpenSource community, including big tech, do very great software/libraries under MIT/Apache, and we contribute when possible,

    GCC is one of the major offenders here, as they introduce custom C/C++ functions (GNU-C) away from the standard (ANSI) and force all their software, including glibc, to use those.

    That makes any compiler like Clang very difficult to be a fully replacement to compile GNU solutions and Systemd.

    Eventually, they will force people (including myself) to fully replace all the GNU infrastructure as they don't abide to the C and C++ standards.

    GNU way of imposing their standards (like Microsoft) are actually boosting the alternatives.

    That's why 99.999% of Linux users don't care about adding the GNU prefix. Not even major companies doing business with Linux.

    So at the end, this is just like some dude asking you to respect their pronouns.

    If you want to pay respects for GNU, feel free to do that, just don't expect others to follow or agree with you.

    The whole discussion here happens because you don't accept "Linux" as the Operative System, but instead you are claiming the Operative System is GNU/Linux.

    That doesn't make it correct or incorrect, that makes you forcing people to use the GNU/loser term
