Just a reminder to those voices being raised in (often snarky) objection about the democratic ticket — its HARRIS/WALZ or Trump’s fascism. There’s no viable alternative.

There’s no perfect ticket in an imperfect world.

Bluntly, wake the fuck up.

If Trump wins (or cheats the system to co-opt the EC count), we lose our democracy to an incapacitated criminal, Project 2025, and oligarchical rule.

AND WE LOSE EVERYTHING!

We have a way forward to hold onto 249 years of democracy, with room to make significant changes in the future. That way is HARRIS/WALZ — the only other option is unthinkable.

Do you know how California is perceived in most flyover states, and in particular its governor, who was once mayor of San Francisco? Do you know the population attrition since Gov. Cutie has been in office, many of which former residents left precisely because of his policies (like both of my sons)?

I like & support Gov. Newsom, but his speeches aren’t exactly thrilling or inspiring, and his personal life would be scrutinized to death. One fancy dinner enjoyed publicly during Covid almost led to another recall effort.

He may be president someday (and would have my vote), but please God not when our democracy is on the line and we’re down to the wire.

There will be no battleground state wins with a California governor on the ticket. His immigration, homelessness, crime, taxes, reparation policies will lead to a Trump win.

IMO, pundits & corporate media are pushing the “replace Joe” mantra precisely because they know there isn’t a viable replacement candidate now and Fucko would win by default. As toxic as HRC was in too many people’s minds, VP Harris is more so today. In this racist climate, she’d never won the popular vote let alone the EC totals necessary (& I’m a big fan of hers). Do I wish Pres. Biden were 20 years younger? Sure, but I think he’s up to continuing the job he’s done so well since 2021. Any win is up to us donating, working the vote & getting people to the polls.

1) Spent all morning outside watching the critters, including a stray mother cat and her two kittens who apparently think they live here now. (YES I put out food and water, NO they aren’t staying.)
2) Finished organizing photos & apps for transfer to new iPad when it arrives Wednesday. 😋
3) Made taco soup last night that will last for days. I therefore declare this as ‘No-Cook Week’!

In considering replacing my elderly (2018) IPadPro, I walked through the Apple sales configuration dialogue yesterday.

It’s weird, but I didn’t see the options for “CONFERS ‘EXPERT STATUS’” on:

His entire lack of all morality and basic humanity was laid bare when (orchestrated by Miller) migrant children were separated from their families with no plan for nor interest in reunification.
