@p FYI in most US states, mutual combat is legal as long as there's no attempt to maim or severely injure, and in many of those "fighting words" and implied invitations to fight count. Not where you live, of course, but in many other places including Washington and Oregon this is the case.

@Leaflord @Moon you have to buy a car built before 1996. So 1995 or older. After 1996 OBD2 was mandated in all cars sold in the US. That's the computer thing bullshit you guys had to deal with. Before that year all you need is a tailpipe test and a safety inspection (blinkers and what not) and it's easy to get them to overlook shit besides the emissions because they don't have to prove anything. You can cut out your catalytic converter and sell it and it will pass inspection.

The good thing about those older cars is that if you like to tinker you can. The company that manufactures them doesn't control the supply chains for the parts, they don't have all kinds of bullshit and tracking built in, they're sexier, you can build them just how you like for much cheaper than the cost of a new car. The bad side is if you want any modern nonsense like rear view cameras and shit you're going to have to install aftermarket stuff. But there's tons of aftermarket stuff for those older cars.

You can use RSS and invidious.

I use an add-on/extension called redirector (and on desktop, a qutebrowser script that I made, it's in my codeberg) that uses regex to reformat URLs, and change all YouTube links to an invidious server, and I use RSS to subscribe to YouTube channels. No account, no ads, none of that horse shit, just a feed for videos I care about watching and auto redirect when I go to watch them.

@Moon @lain unfortunately the cult requires offerings in the form of professed fealty to orthodoxy, so companies like Netflix are going to demand that those foreign shows be pozzed to get access to their markets. They'll destroy everything slowly as they die.

Just look at that hyped Korean space movie recently on Netflix. 0% substance, 50% expensive CGI, 40% propaganda. Licensing foreign media will not solve the cultural problem in Hollywood, it will only rot away anything that touches it, including Korean cinema.

@Moon it rilly do be that way. When I was like 28 an older friend of mine told me, dude once you're into your thirties you won't be able to beat them off you. I was like whatever man that's just you larping as someone who gets all the pussy, 30? That's when you die right? Life is over? No man, turns out that's just for women. A man is in his prime in his early to mid 30s, through to the age of 45-50 if he takes care of himself. Before that everyone just treats you like a boy who is incapable of doing anything.

@cjd man, I agree on the premise, I don't like school and it is total control, but kids went to school in the 60s and 70s and weren't all fat. I wouldn't blame obesity on school. But yes, school is not a good place for children to learn.

It absolutely would be inflationary, no matter what games you play with the money, the supplies for rebuilding aren't printed out of thin air, prices of those go up. You have to find workers that aren't busy, so if there's not unemployment, labor prices go up. If there is enough unemployment to pick up the slack, those new workers go spend their new money and that increases money velocity, prices go up.

The key to understanding this is to understand that wealth isn't money, money is an abstraction for denominating and exchanging wealth in a uniform fashion across an economy.
