    It comes with its own set of challenges. Both logisitcal and financial, which make a regular home more attractive.
    A home on wheels is also a depreciating/stagnant asset which makes it a meh investment as reselling them is less effective than a house.
    That being said, in the right situation, with the right planning, it can be a very viable way of life.

    The cool thing about these things is that they are basically RVs in the eyes of the law. Which allows for a lot of zoning fuckery which would otherwise making building an actual cabin illegal.
    They are quite cheap to build too, if you DIY and source your materials in a smart way. You should try it, it's a fun project

    It becomes significantly more expensive if you plan on towing it around like a nomad wagon.
    You'd need a vehicle strong enough to pull it reliably and often (expensive to own and expensive to operate) People often overlook the wear and tear on your vehicle which adds up very fast.
    I meant it more as a stationary solution if you own a parcel of land (cheaper than buying the right vehicle)

    Depending on the state the hookups can be quite easy to manage. If I recall correctly Kentucky doesn't have strict rules in regards to septic systems and the land there is quite cheap.
    Actually a lot of places in the US have cheap land. It might even make sense to just cash buy a bunch of parcels all over the place and move between them.
    It would most likely end up cheaper than renting land every six months and you have control over it (plus it's a potential investment due to resale)
    Electricity via solar panels since you wouldn't need much anyways
