beware of taking headlines at their word. I totally agree with you on forgiving and forgetting. The US major media has a disgusting way of slanting the real stories. Of course border states are hurting, but that’s kinda the point. The US has fucked up big time, but people won’t do anything about it till it affects them.

My problem is I keep thinking the world should be rational and fair, which is kinda funny since it has rarely worked out that way in my life.

The arrogance (and corruption) are so offensive to me, I can barely stand it. F45 has betrayed our allies, humiliated us on the world stage. The only reason Poot’n hasn’t invaded us is they don’t have the resources to invade a country w/o a common border.
Time for someone to take away gramp’s car keys, but they won’t.

I get a lot of the info via @GottaLaff but that is a lot of responsibility to put on one person. I’m able to follow some of the folks I used to get news from on Xitter, but I find it’s more performative than interactive, which is what I get more of here. I don’t see BS as a substitute for Mastodon, more of an entertainment/news source.

I think about the pure technical choices CNN made: camera angles on tfg vs Biden, lighting. tfg always appeared to be speaking straight into the camera. Biden’s camera/podium made it look like he was either addressing tfg or no one.
The whole thing was a shit show, even before you get into lack of fact check on tfg.
I fail to see what media gains if the entire country collapses into dystopia. Do they think tfg as dictator will allow them to continue to exist except as puppets?

If you, the legislators making laws that restrict access to abortion, don’t care about rape or incest victims, if you don’t care that pregnancies gone wrong can endanger the life, health,& future fertility of the patient, maybe you care about the cost & availability of medical care.
Every person needing emergency care, intensive care for a failed pregnancy on the point of sepsis & death boosts the cost of insurance/medical care for everyone else.
You should care about it all, but you don’t.

And considering that they have successfully legislated in most states against counting early/mail votes before election day, it guarantees that a good percentage of the voters would have their votes disqualified.
