On the one hand, it's bad that I am intolerant and don't want to have a coffee with somebody who's an inoffensive religious nut. I'd rather have a coffee with somebody who I think is nice, but that, he did not mention.

On the other, some common people threaten supermarket cashiers with calling ICE on them because the cashiers won't give them a discount. But for Marco, the important bit to blog about is my intolerance.

Posting this volemose bene* thing basically the day before the AfD won a state election is an *amazing* self-own. Yeah, the "hot take" of your neighbor calling the cops on you to get you deported for being the wrong color, anybody can overlook that, right? They just got economic anxieties. Salt of the earth guys and gals.

I'm not saying a tee is the ultimate solution, either. When I talked about that pin I said that only a life of actions will ever tell in the end if you were safe or unsafe, and this is not so different. But being loud to haters and people in power that you will not stand for their bullshit is something. Small, but something. If you aren't risking anything for those who have it worse than you, that's just a pacifier that you're wearing.

You could rebut that "anybody can wear a tee", and it's true. It comes down to how evident the statement is, and who is it addressed to. The pin was really subtle, and so addressed at "the marginalized in-crowd", like an obscure shibboleth. Some tees I've seen are really subtle about their trans flag, so you're almost left with something that says "You'll have to go through me" without context, and that's useless, too.

Just saw pass by a toot by @nullagent with a video about "how can you know you're a safe white friend" (tl;dw: you can't) and it reminded me of the "ally pin", a golden pin one would wear to signal they were "safe".

And I hated that, then, because *anybody* can wear a pin. The deluded white guy who centers himself but thinks he's the best ally can wear the pin. The TERF trying to gather ammo can wear the pin.

Contrast with the "You'll have to go through me" trans-flag tee. Consider the target.

Now that people are coming in again from Bluesky bc that site enacted draconian policies, I have a suggestion. Not for the newcomers, no: for the people who might have Opinions about hustling here or about sex work in particular:

Keep Those Opinions To Yourselves.

Let people use mastodon as a workplace. Mute, or block, whatever you want. But if your idea of Mastodon is this pristine space where people only do what you deem proper, you're wrong. You're lucky.

I don't want to sound like I'm explaining this to you because telling this to a comics artist is embarrassing, I'm just telling what I notice at a glance as a comics reader:
that page looks *wrong*. The two characters are open-mouthed and excited looking *away* from the thing they mention. The third panel contains nothing relevant. The last two panels are absurd, in part because that's manga-style and I'm trying to read them right-to-left.

@futurebird I've heard (from you too, probably?) the recommendation to have the clothes one buys fit. Like having your new trousers measured and fit to you.

This is to say that I think he had that tee fit, too. @vozercozer
