@TanyaGKasim @bmacDonald94 I gather things like blankets coats and tarps up at whatever second hand I can get them cheap and pinch pennies to buy dog food and gift cards for coffee and fast food and hand them out at a roving encampment near me. I don’t have the money to hand out online. If I had that much I’d be buying people decent shoes, sleeping bags, and camp stoves.

#Today been shopping around for homeowners insurance this week and I have questions.
They want to know how old the house is, how old the roof is and if you have deadbolts. What sort of heat ,do you have a home based business, is there a fire extinguisher. Garage or not attached or not , is there a Ring doorbell.
Pool? Trampoline? DOG? OMG what kind of dog and have they ever bitten anyone.

Know what they DON’T ask?

#Today the spouse and I were at the store and a woman stared at the just got the sutures out 5” scar on his forehead.
Then, and she was old enough to know better, she asked him how did it happen.
Without a seconds pause he said ‘my dear it’s a fencing scar but fear not, I bested my opponent’.
She scuttled away and he said ‘I’ve been planning that response all week’.
I’m still giggling.

I have a friend stuck down there that I finally heard from. He went down to visit his mom who’s in assisted living . So he was there before the warnings and stayed to be sure his mom would be OK.
And then, when he was with a group of ordinary people who were pulling other people who were on the wrong side of a flood across with a rope the ground collapsed under them. He’s got three fractured ribs and a broken wrist. 1/

@paulc @stonekettle he couldn’t get medical care for three days and says the whole area smells like dead things.
What I’m trying to say is that regular folks aren’t to blame. Zoning boards and developers might be responsible but who knew how bad that bad was going to get?

@cyberlyra S’truth. While I knew immediately my sister did not. Most of us don’t have reliable periods . There’s this giant fallacy out there that says oh you get your period on the 13th so you’ll know by the 13th of the next month you’re pregnant.
Meanwhile women who DON’T have a reliable 28 day cycle are screwed. Which is most women.
