@gregengler What a scam, though. I remember how word of mouth spread and getting hold of a bootleg tape was the quest of every middle school boy at the time.
@flockofnazguls I sat on the floor in grade school watching the TV when The Challenger blew up and that changed my mind about space flight. I never knew how dangerous it was until then.
@stina_marie I'm sorry people don't comment on your book reviews over here. I remember when you posted other stuff and I enjoyed following you. Glad you found more attention on Bluesky, but the site is not for me.
My point about the Marvel post is the whole reason to go to BS is the 'feeds' feature. It's a FLAW that both positive and negative comments show up in your feed. I get a lot less negativity here and I can only assume it's because people here are nicer.
@juliewebgirl Something that stuck with me recently was said by one of the Trump spawn as he was hawking the new 'Trump Mobile' scam.
He said that since these phones will *eventually* be made in America, they will be secure from 'back doors' that our enemies might put into 'foreign-made' phones. I immediately thought, 'So, we only have to worry about domestic back doors added by known criminals? Great.'
This week for #MusicWomenWednesday I want to highlight one of my all time favorite women in rock, Chrissie Hynde. Her band, The Pretenders has been going strong since the 70s and they're still rockin' today. I find as I get older, I like more and more of her songs and I think that's because of how mature her writing is.
This is one that always cheers me up: "I'll Stand By You' 🥰
So, I gave it a shot (again) and saw this post over on #Bluesky and it perfectly encapsulates why I stay away:
"I did not have a Tucker heel face turn on my card for this week. Is this why the Marvel movies have sucked since Endgame? Washington stole all the writers?"
Literally not even discussing films and #MARVEL catches random strays. At least over here people have to hashtag it to throw it in the face of fans. 🙄
@Esoteria I've been waiting to see this one and I JUST got rid of P+.
That always happens to me. This movie and 'Novocaine' have been on my watch list and showed up as soon as I switched to peacock. Too many of these streaming services. I can't keep up.
If your going to waste your time posting a negative opinion on something a lot of people like, don't hashtag it. You're allowed to have your opinion, but come on.
People follow hashtags because they're fans and your just rubbing it their face that you don't like what they like. Just say what you want without tagging it.. or better yet... just keep it to yourself. Life is too short to spread negativity.
Ignore what you hate and celebrate what you enjoy. ☮️
This week's theme for #TuneTuesday is #ClipClopMusic (or songs about horses), so I had to pull out a classic. 🐎
You know a song is well-written when DOZENS of artists have their own cover and 'Wild Horses' is one of those songs. 🎶
My favorite version is by The Sundays because it sounds so definitively 90s in that kind of beautiful combination of sad and transcendent that was popular in that era of music. 🥰
I personally don't get why this was so successful, but the draw can't be denied. I have no desire to see it, myself. I guess a lot of people actually think live-action remakes are worthy of their time. I'm fine saying I'm in the minority here. The more these succeed, the more they make. Anyway hey, good for them !! 👍
@trixter See, that's just lazy. The pizza makes sense because the story is all about family, but the milk? It would make more sense if they sold a 4-PACK of milk cartons or sumn.
