Today I defended the frikkin Mona Lisa from people who thought they'd seen "better" in their local art colleges, and another who thought its entire claim to any kind of fame was because it got stolen once.
This arose out of me defending Miyazaki's work against AI plagiarism. Other ob/noxious opinions included "Of course AI can make a Mona Lisa or a Miyazaki film".
Ignorance, man. Fucking epidemic these days.
That, and a third commenter decided to use me as his personal punching bag.
@Uraael What I've learned about arguing online is that if you try to use an example to make your point, the other person will ignore your point and immediately go after your example. It's just a game to them. Don't waste your time.
I love comics, but if I'm being honest I would be the WORST superhero. I wouldn't be a beacon of hope like Kal-El. I would most likely just annihilate people I don't like.
I'd toss Ted Cruz into the sun and people would be like, 'You can't do that' I'd be like, 'Who's gonna stop me?'
I'd roast a certain orange pimple until he popped and people would be better off. I'd be the hero of my story, but a tyrant in some eyes. 🤔
This week for #MusicWomenWednesday, I want to focus on a woman who unfortunately wasn't with us very long. She earned a reputation in the DC area as a masterful interpreter of songs. She died of cancer before she saw any fame, though.
One disc jockey in the UK championed her music and the anthology 'Songbird' was released posthumously, selling millions of copies. This is Eva Cassidy and this is her cover of 'Fields of Gold' 🥰
Someone asked me about my love of #horror and I told them I just like really well-told stories. There's more to it, though. I also enjoy cool practical effects. Like this below is something that some people might find gross, but I see this and I just see the work that went into it to make it look real and bring an important element to the story.
I guess I should use a trigger warning, but just know it's not real.
The theme for #TuneTuesday this week is #StormyNights, so I went with the first song that comes to mind about a life-changing moment in a young lover's life that happened on a stormy night.
Meat Loaf was such a wonderful storyteller and he immediately pulls you in with 'Two Out of Three Ain't Bad' about a woman who broke his heart and how now all he can do is break the hearts of every woman he lays with. 💔
