"What I said was that if we didn't pretty quickly start thinking of human problems in ecological terms rather than in terms of power politics we should very soon be in a bad way." -- Aldous Huxley, 1962.

So I'm reading David Byrne's "How Music Works", and I'm pleasantly surprised.

I was expecting tons of performative quirkiness, a la his stage persona, but it's actually a highly readable and thoughtful meditation on all aspects of music.

I'm only into the first couple chapters, but I'm really enjoying it.

Being #GenX, as a kid I was obsessed with astronauts and manned space flight in general - I even vaguely remember the first moon landing (I was 4).

But now manned space flight appears to become just a way for feckless billionaires to act out their lame sci fi fantasies.

They truly do ruin everything.

So when I first hatched the Flock of Nazguls, I created a #KoFi account for donations/tips. Now that I have a #Faircamp site, I can stick a Ko-Fi button on there. But do I want to?

So far, I've released everything free of charge under a #CreativeCommons license, and I'm proud to have done so.

I considered adding that Ko-Fi button, if only because our sick society seems to value your stuff more if you're making money off of it.

Fuck it. I'm not monetizing. Better to wallow in obscurity.

Dear America:

Why are your former presidents silent as your country gets dismantled from within?

Honestly, I don't get it.

Cordially,

A Confused Canadian

Oh and anyone spewing that settler-colonial bullshit is getting blocked in a nanosecond. Enough of that corrosive bullshit. It's part of why we're in our current mess.

As much as I enjoyed posting my clips on #Instagram I cannot in clear conscience participate in anything to do with Zuckerberg/Musk/Bezos. My account is now deleted. Ditto Amazon Prime.

This the most low-effort yet effective way to fight 21st century fascism. Do it.
