    This explains SO much!

It didn't sit right with me when I found out White House personnel were using Signal. I wasn't sure why. Now I do.

Is Signal really Signal if it's archiving *UNENCRYPED* chats?!?

And if it's a forked version, shouldn't it be renamed as such?

Something that stuck with me recently was said by one of the Trump spawn as he was hawking the new 'Trump Mobile' scam.

He said that since these phones will *eventually* be made in America, they will be secure from 'back doors' that our enemies might put into 'foreign-made' phones. I immediately thought, 'So, we only have to worry about domestic back doors added by known criminals? Great.'

My gods they are so dumb.

      Backdoors are backdoors.

Open to one, open to all.

They act like you need a US govt clearance to enter those backdoors.

It's a new cellular service with refurbished T-Mobile phones from three generations ago, painted gold and renamed the 'T1'

It's about as grifty as you can get.

@juliewebgirl The government forked working code is my point. Why? And government coders suck (excepting the NSA, but they don't share) so that's already really bad running right into worse.

Pete Hegseth, the dumbass. I just watched Senator Tammy Duckeorth on the Armed Services Committee tear Pete a new asshole. It was Fantastic.

      She's a badass: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Duckworth

        Tammy Duckworth
Ladda Tammy Duckworth (born March 12, 1968) is an American politician and retired Army National Guard lieutenant colonel serving since 2017 as the junior United States senator from Illinois. A member of the Democratic Party, she represented Illinois's 8th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Duckworth was educated at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and George Washington University. She joined the United States Army Reserve in 1992, and served as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot in the Iraq war. In 2004, when her Black Hawk helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade fired by Iraqi insurgents, she lost both legs and some mobility in her right arm. She was the first female double amputee from the war. Despite her injuries, she was awarded a medical waiver to continue serving in the Illinois Army National Guard for another ten years until she retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2014. Duckworth ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2006, then served as director of the Illinois Department...

      Wait. I'm confused.

"Uh, shouldn't be using non government channels because we document that shit for Reasons."

The govt made a Signal fork. Govt employees told to use it.

My whiteboard isn't handy. Who's Pete?

@juliewebgirl Yeah there's nothing wrong with Signal, or you'd have heard me detonate.

      They're using a *fork*.
      1. Uh, shouldn't be using non government channels because we document that shit for Reasons.
      2. A Fork? You trust a Fork that archives ... let me count the wrong. And I'll bet they didn't vet the code.
      3. Adding a non member of whatever sneaky cabal.

I'm watching Pete get handed his ass in a Senate hearing.
