Today was hiking day at vacation.
We did an easy hike and i was positively impressed by the performace of my baby (4yo): we did a 4km long, 600m of ascend hike in little more than 1h30 plus some stops for photos and drink water. She almost outperformed the wife LOL.
She performed well in descend too but it was very tired at the end also because she played at Kugelwald park and on other games.

Pic at top of the hike. A bit too many tourist at top because of the seilbahn but still ok...through the path barely no one there ❤

In my latest post I told i may do another century ride. Unfortunately for family reasons 😒 i could not.
So yesterday i decided to wake up early today and do a medium-long ride.
Woke up at 6am and started around 6.30, at sunset. Rode up to the river dam but it was still closed (arrived around 8am there, it opens at 9am). It was even a bit cold, around 20°C for most of the ride.
Anyway i felt very strong, did a great ride, although i was passed on an ascend around 5-7%, i was doing like 15km/h and this old man passed me at like 25km/h 😅
~63km and ~600m of ascend in ~2h30m

The day after Ride of the Year:

Training status: overreaching (yesterday activity was max / high intensity on both aerobic and anaerobic levels)
Readiness: 1 (try to do a training today and i shoot you in the legs - sincerely - Garmin)
Recovery time: 89h (yesterday was 96h but was slowed down by poor sleep tonight)
Endurance score: well trained 💪
Cycling level: climber 😎

So today was Ride of the Year day...
Started at a decent hour, about 8:30 and weather was super clear and sunny.
Hadn't any particular body issues today, a bit of leg pain in the morning (stretching at first stop fixed it), and some neck/shoulder pain in the last part. Last 20/30km were very hurtful because i was energyless because of the hot.
I managed quite good water (drank about 8 liters of water) thanks to the free taps here and there (luckily).
Good management of food too, ate 3 energy bars every couple of hours and i didn't feel any hunger.
New aero bars are ok, need to get used a bit but helps a bit.
Track was nice, 157km and 1800m of positive ascends, 2 longer ascends (8km and 6km) in the middle were very hard...with about a total of 700m ..
No new best records today, but with 42°C in the afternoon probably it is the hottest ride ever for me...
Garmin also says i need 4 days to recover from it because i burnt like 4500kcal 😎
In the end i stopped at a bar to celebrate and refresh me.
The only things that pissed a bit me was that i didn't get the Century Badge from Garmin for just 3km (157km instead of 160km)...hadn't any energy left to complete the challenge anyway...
Stay tuned for next trip! Possibly i could do another long trip in this holidays, but nothing sure...Ride on! ☮

Upgrade of the last hour before the Ride of the Year 2024 which is tomorrow:
Aero bars 😎

Untested so maybe i will have to edit the setup a bit, hopefully they will help me during long rides to rest the back.
Now my bike is a very unique one: a 29" MTB with slick gravel tyres (almost road tyres) with time trial/triathlon aero bars 😎

About tomorrow ride, i will ride in the uncharted (for me) eastern valleys of my district, ~160km, D+ ~1600m

Will be a hot ~35°C day, with random showers in the afternoon maybe...ride on! ☮

Monday i did the 39th #Bike2Work ride.
It was 33°C, hot and sunny, wind was slightly against and I did A-1 (16.7km, 130m ascend).
Again i did "base" training, had to use the minor front gear to keep heart in range and don't push too much...cadence was higher which i like it, above 90.

Yesterday i did the 38th #Bike2Work ride.
It was 32°C, hot and sunny, wind was slightly in favour and I did C-1 (18km, 170m ascend).
Again today i did "base" training, but heart was a bit happy (after a week of total rest because of the fever)...anyway i got good sensations which is great...

Today i did the 37th #Bike2Work ride.
It was 32°C, hot and sunny, wind was slightly against and I did A-1 (16.7km, 135m ascend).
Again today i did "base" training, in z2-z3 heart zones...ended again 5 or 6min after my best time.
I was annoyed also by a runny nose because a F colleague came to work 3 days sick...and now i have that...😡
Hope to recover soon to ride again on monday maybe...and sorry but no pic today...

Today i did the 36th #Bike2Work ride.
It was 32°C, hot and sunny, wind was slightly against and I did D-1 (19.2km, 180m ascend).
It wasn't the usual ride, because today i tried to keep a low aerobic load because Garmin told me i need it, so i was all the time in Z2-Z3.
It was strange because i never returned home without pushing at full speed, but it was ok. I kept the cadence high, >90.
I ended 6min later than my best time, but it wasn't the aim today. Will going to do some more rides like this i think, to balance my loads (anaerobic, high aerobic, low aerobic).
