Hmmm ... ask your primary to request a "tilt test" for you. I was having symptoms that are similar to what you're describing, and was diagnosed as having orthostatic hypotension - low blood pressure triggered by positional change. Mine was related to a side effect of a medication I had started about a month before, but there are many things that will trigger the condition. Also can be related to low sodium condition in the body or adrenal malfunction

It is my understanding that once Threads federates, that corp (and Meta) will have access to all of the metadata about other federated entities unless blocked by the server. Too late to block at the user level after they have already harvested the data. I do not want my data exposed in any form to entities such as Meta which is a known bad actor.

They seem blind to the ugliness that is Meta. Threads has stated in their policy that they will harvest data from/about anyone who even indirectly interacts with any of their members. It will be almost impossible to avoid indirect interactions through links of follower/followed. Once the Fediverse is infected by Threads it will become another Meta resource

Thanks! Unfortunately my home server has not chosen to block Threads so I will be looking for a new server in the next few weeks.

Also unfortunately, in the past couple days at least one major server admin has reconsidered blocking & has now decided to "allow our users to decide on an individual basis". 🥺

No, we didn't actually. We VOTED for Hillary, but the f**king EC put the orange turd in the WH. WTF are you screaming at me about RUSSIA? I never mentioned anything about Russia! The EC is the Electoral College - something our own forefathers inflicted on us because the majority of them feared "the urban rabble" (i.e., non-rural-land-owners). Now we're stuck with a Constitutional institution that virtually guarantees minority rule until a majority of states embrace true democracy.

I absolutely agree with your premise that LA education is getting short-shrift. I must *disagree* though about your premise that "force-pushing tech and STEM" is in some way limiting children's freedom. As children mature, they seek & need support to make decisions about the direction of their lives, and making them aware that tech/scientific study/careers are viable options - not some pipe dream - is important. But ... STEM education needs to include much more LA as it used to

Unless you take children away from their right-wing parents (which I would find horrendous!), it is going to take WAY more than a generation to turn this around. If there is ANYTHING the hard-right has mastered, CHILD GROOMING is it! Every child is fed a continuous stream of rhetoric/propaganda, both of religious and of secular nature. Only the occasional kid gets the kind of outside-the-family exposure to critical thinking that allows them to break out of this brainwashing
