@WarnerCrocker “it sounds like the MacStories decision was made without consulting other team members” — That’s underselling it. The team seemingly found out secondhand after everyone on X found out. Returning to X is what it is, but announcing it on X where your team won’t see it is f***ed up.
@WarnerCrocker Apple already has the iPhone Upgrade program, which covers most Apple devices by sales volume. Expanding to Watch, iPad, and Mac is significant, but I would expect it to extract more revenue from that same audience, not so much to expand the program to more customers.
@WarnerCrocker Meta muddles everyone’s perception of a form factor by doing the creepiest version possible, matched only by Elon, Inc. Apple already shipped Visual Intelligence, and one feature it doesn’t have is video recording. That is the right way to do it, yet everyone expects they’ll follow Meta’s dumbass approach to glasses.
@WarnerCrocker I’d go a step lower and say most folks don’t meet the baseline requirement of distinguishing between governance and politics to be able to understand either one less.
@WarnerCrocker@caseyliss@marcoarment@siracusa Apple Watch is linked directly to iPhone, so there’s no iCloud intermediary, and notifications on Apple only show on Watch when iPhone is locked, so there is a direct way to not get the tap-tap. Perhaps your iPhone screen turns on and intercepts the notification at times. Regardless, it wouldn’t hurt to automate a back-up notification for messages from the wife.
Seems like a good day to re-up this reminder: “Google’s mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful.” Which information? The world’s. Are we part of the world? Yes. Do they need to access and use all our info to fulfill their mission? Obviously. Don’t we get access and use too? Sure, but there’s no mention in the mission of cost or presentation. If indexing is a process, AI is ultra processed. #Google#AI https://www.google.com/search/howsearchworks/our-approach/
Thought of a crazy pitch for a reboot of Air Force One:
To smuggle a shipment of his sons’ self-branded phones past his own tariffs, the President of the United States gathers a rag-tag team of business execs to stage a diplomatic mission to China. They successfully load all [TBD] phones aboard Air Force One with one small problem — cheap Li-ion batteries set to explode when the plane reaches moderate cruising altitude! Will they find it in time? Or will it end for the better?
Doesn’t matter if you drive internal combustion, hybrid, or electric because: "You can't make a tire without rubber, and the U.S. doesn't produce rubber."
I understand our special military operation in Iran is called Operation Epstein Fury. Do not correct me. That is what it is. Keep repeating it until Emperor PalOfEpstein says it. #OperationEpsteinFury#EpsteinFury#EmperorPalOfEpstein
When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. Happy Groundhog Day to all who celebrate, with warmth of their hearths and hearts, a long and lustrous winter. #HappyGroundhogDay#GroundhogDay
Happy Groundhog Day to all who… blah-blah-blah-blah. There is no way that this winter is ever going to end as long as this groundhog keeps seeing his shadow. I don’t see any other way out. He’s gotta be stopped. #HappyGroundhogDay#GroundhogDay
@WarnerCrocker He cannot stop saying he wants to take people’s guns. He said it at least twice at campaign events and once at the White House in a meeting on gun laws. I suspect his would-be assassins paid attention but no one else. https://time.com/5184160/trump-guns-due-process/
