In Deutschland funktioniert Korruption meist nicht direkt mit Hand aufhalten, sondern indem man sich Gefallen tut.

Speziell Spahn weiß aber sicher, wie er seine Schäflein ins Trockene bringt.

Um nur mit CDU- und Bank-Connections mit unter 40 ein 8-stelliges Immobilienvermögen anzuhäufen, erfordert schon ein gehöriges Maß an Schlitzohrigkeit.

Niemand wirft Spahn vor, in der Eile ein paar teure Fehler begangen zu haben.

Ich denke, dafür haben wir alle Verständnis.

Problematisch war stets, dass er gegen die ausdrücklichen Warnungen seiner Mitarbeiter (die ja schließlich im Gegensatz zu ihm Profis waren) gehandelt hat und vor allem, dass er freihändig und eigenmächtig viel Geld an CDU/CSU-Spezis verteilt hat.

Unfähigkeit ist verzeihlich, Korruption ist es nicht.

Have you ever heard of the #DunningKruger effect?

Generally, it is understood as

"a claim about general overconfidence of people with low intelligence" [wikipedia]

This actually isn't, what the original study said, but it is still what most people think, when they hear the term.

However, in my personal experience (anecdotal evidence) I find the most extreme levels of unfounded overconfidence about one's expertise concerning almost every aspect of life concentrated

I think there is a feedback loop between Big Oil and neoliberal ideology.

Big Oil pushes the neoliberal agenda (see e.g. the Koch Brothers) and the neoliberals enable Big Oil burning the planet, and so it goes further and further.

However, in a toot, sometimes the point is not giving a full lecture, but to give a quick idea, what all the fuzz is about.

BTW: In Argentina they now change the public *children's* program in order to teach the youngest the teachings of Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek.

Just got *blocked* by someone, because I used the term "neoliberal" unironically in a post (though definitely not in a positive manner).

What is wrong with some people?

I am totally in favour of being sensitive with language usage, but I would have loved to know what it actually was about.

I personally understand "neoliberalism" as the ideology that try to actively remove all institutional barriers for businesses to make profits, including taxes.

To say it with the devil en flesh, Margaret Thatcher: "There is no such thing like society".

This is a nice illustration of thermodynamics and the law of entropy, but it is also a reminder of what neoliberals/conservatives do to our democratic and social institutions:

What they are able to destroy in months, needs decades to rebuild.

Es geistert ein neuer Vorschlag der #SPD zur "Sanierung" der gesetzlichen #Krankenkassen durch die politische Landschaft:

Die Anhebung der Beitragsbemessungsgrenze von 5.500 auf 8.000 €.

Der hat tatsächlich gute Chancen auf Realisierung, denn er spült kurzfristig Geld ins System, ohne auch nur ein grundsätzliches Problem zu lösen.

Mit diesem Pflästerchen könnte man die tatsächlich sinnvolle Versicherungspflicht für alle
