@Hyperhidrosis McGronalds ironically offers better pay than many jobs and if it wasn't for the proprietary scheduling software, it would be a job that didn't require running proprietary software.

@meso @sally @yomiel There would be nothing wrong with an ECU that ran free software - an fuel injection and timing adjustment is a much better experience than a carburetor.

@SuperDicq @domi @mei If people want to install proprietary software, at least they should have to choose to go and install it, rather than it being installed without even asking or telling (which Debian, the proprietary OS does).

Developers should not put in any time to make such process easy - the user should be on their own ("surprisingly" in this case, most users decide not to run such proprietary software).

@Ree ssh, the protocol isn't bad.

I don't how "openssh" uses "open", not free, but it is free software, thus it is acceptable for usage.

@SuperDicq Aside from how it has dependencies on proprietary things like google carplay.

The f-droid version (OsmAnd~ https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.osmand.plus/) unfortunately is probably proprietary, as f-droid builds everything with a proprietary google SDK.

OsmAn d~ also contains spyware that reports what maps are downloaded.

@contrapunctus >You embody the worst of the free software movement.
For daring to stand up for freedom.

    >pushing them to ambivalence at best
If people know that free software even exists and it's to eliminate the evil of proprietary software, that's a win.

    >Telling people what proprietary software does pushes them towards proprietary software.
    Damn.

    >Welcome to the block list.
    >Please change and grow as a person.
    No self awareness eh?

Meanwhile I have an empty blocklist.

If it makes noise and moves, then likely it uses a Cortex-M0+ or similar, running proprietary software.
