@latein @fiore @grips @hachi @phnt @fluffy @ecadre @tusharhero >He took that long to realize that GNU is a 40 year+ joke and counting despite how it's named after the funniest word in the English language.
The hello is the finest joke - it shows how a portable hello world with translations and GNU autotools is done, giving an example for GNU packages where such added complexity is worth it. -

@Zergling_man I removed the proprietary beer via editing the image, but I haven't got around to putting cake in. -

@grips @fiore @latein @phnt @fluffy @ecadre @tusharhero It takes at least 4 authors to write software as advanced as the typical GNU package. -

@Ree @thatbrickster It goes against humanity to give proprietary software developers more money in all cases.
If only unauthorized copies killed such companies - unfortunately those either do nothing, or work as unpaid advertising for the company. -

@tyil @arh Printing and scanning is broken on all systems, but GNU/Linux-libre happens to handle printing and scanning the best.
It depends a lot on if the printer support IPP or postscript or only supports a proprietary printing protocol. -

@Ree @thatbrickster If people want to run proprietary games, the least bad way to get a copy is via unauthorized copying, so the proprietary software developers don't get more money. -

@Pi_rat @besserwisser @Kyonko802 @Ree @SuperDicq It takes a lot less time to apply a patch or three to a few programs out of all the programs you use than to write your own OS. -
