> Just a collection of communities, one per ecosystem, is probably fine.
Yes, agree with that. It is also what I'd encourage people to do when they'd like to create new application types. It already happens for podcasting, but forge federation is another example.
Protocol-level improvement / issues with ActivityPub still need broader consensus.
Re: Discourse. Yea, there's a lotta JS in the app I'm afraid. There's an Android client, I believe, but then you'd have to use that 🤷
@freedomboxfndn comes to mind, which might run such service, hiding complexity for end-users. Check #freedombox website:

In the case of #delightful project there isn't one. I also maintain awesome-humane-tech and came upon some lists that were 'not so awesome' from humane tech perspective.
It got me to thinking that 'awesome' re:tech is a more capitalist language. Like 'disruption' which is only nice (maybe) if you are on the good side of it.
"Awesome" you may say seeing a supervolcano erupt, before you die. "Delightful" when you find a precious, rare flower worthy to protect and nourish.
Did you already check out the newly created #delightful lists by @jonatasbaldin@indieweb.social and @yarmo ?
Here's:
Delightful #LibreHosters: People and organizations who deploy, maintain and offer open source services to the public.
https://codeberg.org/jonatasbaldin/delightful-libre-hosters
Delightful #Matrix: Matrix resources, implementations and clients.
https://codeberg.org/yarmo/delightful-matrix
15 delightful lists now in total 😃

Antique coffee mug..
You may be interested in https://coding.social that is very fedi-related and on addressing a bunch of issues we face. We are still ramping up things, not wholly publicly announced and stuff.
Foundkey is new to me. Is that a fedi app? If yes, I can add to the delightful lists.
Mastodon supports toot editing AFAIK (not on my instance, I think), but I don't know how it is implemented.
In a wholly different context (#ForgeFederation) diffing of Update msgs recently came up.
And an idea was posed to have a PartialUpdate activity type.
https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/remote-partial-updates/2583
Ah, that makes sense. I have seen edited toots that were somehow created.
I also can't remember having seen discussions on how interopable ways to have broad support for the feature should be implemented.
Thanks :)
Are you involved with Akkoma project? Is quite recent fork, I learned. I added to https://delightful.club fedi apps list
Love #Figma? Now that it has been acquired by #Adobe their future might just go the same direction as Macromedia Fireworks, which according to the top HN commenter was:
"a calculated decision to kill an innovative product because it threatened the profits of their cash cows"
Luckily there's something much nicer than Figma. More promising: A true #FOSS alternative for #UX design.
Of course this is @penpot
Give it a spin. Join the community.
And for #Pixelfed there's #tchncs providing it along with a bunch of other apps.
First time meeting people from fediverse irl
@davidrevoy I love this, David ?
Not an artist myself, but curious about the thoughts on the "Rise of AI" in the artists' fields I did a poll not too long ago. My own thoughts were like "Gee, this is kinda worrying trend and will be sorely disruptive".
So this opposite take and embracing of what new possibilities may be in store is very refreshing to me. Thank you. You are always inspiring!
Here's the other poll with (elaborate) discussion thread:
With both the #ActivityPub hashtag and the #Guppe group you'll get best reach on the fedi.
Other than that there's the #SocialHub community to ask, but it also has a great archive of past discussion to search in.
Good starter topic: https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/guide-for-new-activitypub-implementers/479
Other than that I co-maintain 3 fedi-related lists on https://delightful.club with many projects codebases to check out.
There should be some aggregator service that passes on to the particular donation / payment service as a proxy, and has a consolidated UI for a person's presentation, to give attribution and thanks, etc.
Oh, and the "Profit first" track is back. Super useful in times of recession. /s
?️♂️⛷️?♀️ Update on this, I've registered exercise.cafe and set up a @pixelfed instance using @support
Registrations are currently closed while I do the following:
1. Create v0.1 of a Code of Conduct I'm happy with
2. Experiment with a selection of images that test users can discuss / vote on for the exercise.cafe icon
3. Get used to the Pixelfed admin interface
4. Have a think about useful hashtags for various activities
5. Find people to invite as users
Test posts: https://exercise.cafe/doug
⬆️ #FediJobs #jobs CC @hunter2 #FlockingBird
@pixelfed If you'd like to help me test this out, DM me!
I'll need to know:
1. What kind of exercise you usually do (to try and get a range)
2. Whether you have prior experience of Pixelfed (again, to get a spread of experience)
3. Why you'd like an account
???
@emacsen @aral @t0k @ArneBab @humanetech Not an option unless the project in question requires copyright assignment, or can otherwise ensure you remain the sole copyright owner for the duration of the custom license, or the license is for one particular version, and does not cover future version, updates, etc.
That's a whole lot of legal hurdles for likely not a lot of money.
