@Aether >Christian woman marries atheist man
Yeah there's a reason why God says to not do that.

@fluffy @Christ_is_Lord The problems faced by the early church were very similar to what's happening now. Christians get complacent and don't teach the next generation properly, newer generations don't understand what they weren't taught properly, some hucksters start changing doctrines to appeal to disaffected people, BOOM Arian heresy, Pelagian heresy, LGBT heresy

@fluffy @Christ_is_Lord Not sure about piety but historically when generations fail to pass their ideals on and properly inculcate their kids in the how and why of their beliefs, the kids grow up to just take bits and pieces of whatever helps them deal with social pressures. What's happening now isn't new or surprising just sad and pathetic.

@fluffy @Christ_is_Lord In this case failure to teach and explain Christian doctrine. Everyone has heard "love thy neighbor" but how many know that entails "sternly punishing bad behavior like a father raising his kids"? Most people's understanding of Christian love (Agape) is completely wrong because instead of being taught properly it's just sort of thrown at you and you're left to fill in the blanks with whatever appeals to you.

@fluffy @Christ_is_Lord Maybe? If you only look at how many things the average person owns then yeah we're obscenely wealthy, but if you look at the amount of control and power the average person has over their own life then we're almost all chattel slaves. The concubine has a lot more paid time off than the tindr whore

@fluffy @Christ_is_Lord Well we live in a technological society where we depend on lots of different inventions and machinery, and the knowledge and skills required to understand and operate and improve all that machinery is far too large for a single person to comprehend, and it's even too large for an entire family or village or small city to comprehend. So just to stay alive I'm now dependent on the actions of millions of people who I don't know (and never will) who are doing things I don't understand (and never can), and the only thing I can do is hope there's some technological niche that gives me enough fun tokens to pay someone to solve my problems for me, problems that I only vaguely understand because someone else that I don't know told me that's how things work (insurance says i need a mechanic and the mechanic says my timing belt is fucked and now i'm fucked)

I have two models of the same laptop bought 10 years apart, the older one runs better than the newer one most of the time :konatears:

@hazlin @deprecated_ii The response is that his argument is still just vague handwaving post hoc explanations. Ask for concrete numbers, exactly how many mutations does it take for a spider to spin web, whats the probability for each mutation, how many occur each generation and how long until it predominates? The devil is in the details and quantitative analysis.
In the other thread someone said that rolling a trillion sided dice a trillion times for a trillion years would be enough, and i said he was off by a factor of 10^15000
And computer algorithms still rely on a programmer to tune enough parameters to make it run. An intelligent designer who picks the right numbers is an argument for God not against him.
>His response was to insist that, these models (I assume he meant algorithms) as they grow become more resistant to these issues.
Ask for proof of this with an example
>And, that natures model is much larger than the computer models, so of course it will be able to avoid these issues and arrive at life, from atoms and natural forces.
This is just begging the question

@deprecated_ii Nobody in that thread tried to explain evolution in a systematic (or axiomatic way) which is how you know that they're just repeating words without thinking through the scientific theory they claim to believe (you can't even believe in a conditional theory stupid idiot)
Evolution defined as "differential survival of those with advantageous traits" is a tautology and uninteresting. But if you tie that tautology to a method of making those traits hereditary and mutable then you have something that will solve for local extrema (this is how programmers can write "evolutionary algorithms". If you can code something then it obviously has some axiomatic structure to it)
The real kicker is 1) where did this process start and how? And 2) how exactly do the random probabilities work out to produce such complex biological structures let alone behaviors. All discussions with evolutionists never get to the problems posed by 1) and 2) because they don't actually like or understand science, they're just conformist tattle tales

@mute_city @hazlin @deprecated_ii It says that given an already existing ecosystem full of life, there are ways the population distribution will change. The problem with the argument is that the programmer brings his simulations into existence, but in the real world you would need either God or abiogenesis, and probability of abiogenesis occurring is infinitesimally small
