    @sundogplanets It looks like the instructions for joining are in the readme on the github page for their source code.

    Station ID
    If you want to join our network of global cameras, please send me an e-mail and I will give you a station code. The codes are made up of the 2-letter ISO code of your country (e.g. DE for Germany), followed by a 4 character alphanumeric code starting at 0001 and ending with ZZZZ, giving a total number of 1.5 million unique combinations for every country. For testing purposes you might use XX0001.

    @skinnylatte Maybe a weird question, but have you ever changed environments drastically, and then had to have your sense of direction re sync?

    I really missed out on the Oakland food scene when I lived in the Bay Area. I got to concerts in the east bay, but unfortunately did not explore the food culture.

    I'm going to have to check and see if it is the same place, but you were mentioning landmarks like City Lights that were prety close to it.

    @skinnylatte The last time I was in the area I was with a friend from the Netherlands, and we just walked into a place because it smelled good. Immediately realized it was run by Vietnamese people and skipped all of the Americanized Chinese dishes on the menu and ordered Phố instead. Was not dissaapointed.

    (Not sure why I'm relating that now.)

    @skinnylatte I can go either way with breakfast but more often prefer savory over sweet. (Maybe sweet once every 3 months or so.) I often lean more towards bagel shops because of this. The classic lox, cream cheese, red onion, and capers, if you can find a proper boiled bagel and not what some of the chains prevalent in California serve up. I agree there really should be more options though.

    I'm going offline for a bit. I'm actually unsure of how many followers I have on this platform that are still currently following.

    I have had some nice interactions with a lot of you though, and thank you all. I hope I'll pop up again in a month or two, but don't expect the worst.

    @skinnylatte I grew up in the South Bay Area so that might have something to do with it. I also spent a lot of my time in the Sierras so my view on whether the Bay Area and San Diego (Lived there too) have "mountains proper" is biased, but they're both tolerable for access to topography.

    @skinnylatte I've not moved around the planet to the degree you have. In fact, I've lived the entirety of my life in the US. That said moving around the regions I have I came to an early conclusion about where I could live: easy access to mountains, or ocean / coast but preferably both.

    @skinnylatte @laxla I think it's maybe a lack of practice? I mean this in the sense of a lot of "English speaking people" (of which I am one) don't cook rice on a regular basis. (I am not in that camp though.)

    @quinn @tillybridges I'm not sure that leaving some ambiguity for those that do not care to ask is the same as pretending to be something you're not.

    @GossiTheDog

    normally far right influencers attract old people

    Andy Ngo? Ian Miles Cheong? Andrew Tate? The majority of the gamergate crowd? I don't think far right influencers and "younger people" is a new thing with Elon here.

    @skinnylatte Ah! That's probably the thing I need to get my head around. I always shot negative for BW and reversal for color, but maybe I need to play with color negative film if I get back into it. Thanks!

    @skinnylatte

    Can I ask you a random film / photography question? (Feel free to answer or not.)
    I haven't really been doing it in awhile aside from quick snaps with rather mediocre digital cameras, but do have some decent Nikor lenses and an acceptable film camera to mount them on (35mm.) I shot a lot of Fujifilm in the past. Is there anything similar currently in color gamut or are the Kodak color ranges it for now? (If you know.)

    I've been in and out of information security professionally, but somehow always have related projects. Mainly working with zeek and network level detection at the moment. SDR, cycling, and climbing enthusiast.I boost a lot. Topics range far and wide from security and "the cybers" and may include politics, food, humor, science, law, nature, art, and other sundry unsavories. I occasionally post my own projects and thoughts.
