@skinnylatte I've not moved around the planet to the degree you have. In fact, I've lived the entirety of my life in the US. That said moving around the regions I have I came to an early conclusion about where I could live: easy access to mountains, or ocean / coast but preferably both.

@skinnylatte I grew up in the South Bay Area so that might have something to do with it. I also spent a lot of my time in the Sierras so my view on whether the Bay Area and San Diego (Lived there too) have "mountains proper" is biased, but they're both tolerable for access to topography.
