it's a copy-paste #Grok#answer about cloud app #comfyUI as-a-service providers, lots of obscure ones. Too long for a chat message. They found like 17 different options.
my character limit is 3000 (in the chatbox), don't know how to reconfigure it, don't know if there are additional restrictions to reconfigure inside the request handler or database.
It's a moot question anyway, because I don't want to run afoul of whatever character limits are on the other instance on the receiving end.
You wouldn't know it from my online footprint, but there's significant downtime on my instance, as well as significant lag. (That's why there's repeated duplicate comments sometimes from me.) I really don't want to be expected to serve as unpaid #techsupport for random foul-mouthed #fedi anons.
Plus, #misskey lacks certain functionality on the GUI and I have to manipulate the browser URL string sometimes. I don't want to have to teach other users how to do it, they're usually retarded.
No complaints... I more content is better, and more backups are better. But I don't believe #Misskey supports changing the behavior, from maximalist to minimalist file hosting (proxy content cacheing).
Someday when I get rich, I'll put a little bit of money (or just have enough free time) to build a fully customizable #ActivityPub backend to my liking.
In my case, however, I've been receiving arbitrarily many PDF files on my instance when somebody else posts them on their instance. Somebody posted 4 PDFs attachments in one post, and then another 10 posts with 1 PDF each and my instance hosted all of them.
When I opened the PDFs they opened on my instance rather than opening a link on the remote site.
I'm talking about replying to other people, sending content from here to there that gets stored there.
On some instances I've replied with a video and the other instance just stores a 3-second GIF thumbnail. When you actually play it on their site, the actual src= is pointing to subs4social.
File downloads too, like the big txt, are linked to the subs4social.
I've sent replies with 6 images attached and only 4 show on the other instance.
Every #ActivityPub implementation is a bit different, and sites have lots of tricks of the trade to avoid storing arbitrarily large #replies from other instances.
Also, the inflation counter-acts the value of the national debt.
The bonds are issued at a fixed rate, ideally just a tad bit above the rate of real inflation, and gov gets a bargain rate on their debt because they have such stellar credit.
We need to borrow this #naming convention for other things, too.
