@guigsy@PictoPulse356@bontchev I don't think it's about (cost)free, it's about how much revenue/profit is enough for a company. Infinite growth goals lead to enshittification. It's not inevitable
@Kierkegaanks@BeAware I achieved that by adding them to a list, then view such a list. another trick I learned was to activate "notification" on selected accounts that I enjoy interacting with, so whenever they post something, I get notification to check their post and interact accordingly.
@phiofx one positive side effect of the current budget crisis discussions #germany is the discovery of billions of euro paid as licenses for #microsoft and #oracle systems by government agencies. This can turn into a move towards open source support that would both save money and support indigenous software development and maintenance
@HistoPol@axbom ironically, #survailancecapitalism#bigtech companies have enough data about almost everyone that can provide accurate insights without the need to run any survey ever again. However, they use it just to make more money for their own benefits rather than the greater good
@youronlyone for me it's fine to describe something new by referencing something known to the audience. What is not fine is forgetting to add the "but..." part of the reference 🙃. For example, #pixelfed is like #Instagram *but...* (decentralized, ad-free ...etc). #Mastodon is like #Twitter but without the fascists and so on. Until there's enough awareness/recognition of those products/platforms on their own.
