@annika Even a casual bike pace would be half that time... Although given Dublin drivers, I wouldn't unless the majority was cycle ways.

@killyourfm I've read a couple of articles on this. The LLM finds some potential waypoints, and then it hands it over to an old school route finder to try to link known trails to those waypoints. The "make me a route" functionality already existed. This is just a mild gimmick and AI hype train. I'm not sure where the danger is.

@GossiTheDog @kimzetter but isn't that also pretty irrelevant in this case. It wouldn't have mattered how secure the communications channel was. The failure point was the human.

@GossiTheDog Meh. It'll throttle itself down before it turns to slag. Or your PSU will brown-out and crash the system. Unlikely to do too much damage.

@annika I think standard super glue (cyanoacrylate?) is water soluble. Would epoxy be better?

@PictoPulse356 @bontchev it's pretty hard to deny that (cost)free internet services inevitably leads to enshitification. If we want something that's both good and that respects our privacy, subscription is the only way.

@yogthos I'm embarrassed to say that I'm a subscriber. Are any of the other streaming services more ethical to their employees and to artists?

@inthehands @ajsadauskas I did a project that put variable speed limits on some highways to help flow. We created a traffic sim to see if it would work elsewhere. Used regression to tweak the driver behaviour model so they behaved as we saw drivers respond to the variable limits in the reality. Seemed work. Until one run, someone forgot to turn the signs on and the modelled drivers still acted just as well. We'd made sim'd drivers respond better to congestion, not to react to the signs. Doh!
