Ohh icic, at that point you might consider building a more robust custom TL system though, since building one does the majority of the work to build even more.
Like a TL where you can "select" what you want to see and it filters the incoming json based on what you set. This is coming from my days of making fedi-bots and what the API looked to me as an end-user though.
I think it'd definitely be cool though "I want to se reposed posts from people I follow excluding darkerdork.dev posts"
You could set the custom feeds up on a per-user level or as something admins can create on the sidebar. It's definitely a LOT more ambitious than what Johnny was talking about but it would be interesting to see what operators did with it :D
Sorry for rambling :P

Could be interesting for like a "Might interest you" or "Discovery" but it could also be gamed like p was saying (though a bit harder since it's more a "trusted web" if you will).
It's tricky but would definitely be a nice addition, I think. One of the main things I do when reading threads or seeing a quote post is seeing if the person seems chill and if so I follow. Would be nice to offset that to it's own tab, if that makes sense.
Then you get into the problem with algorithms controlling or influencing how the community works as well, which is always a big point of contention.
tl;dr: I don't know man, I'm retarded. Could be cool maybe though

>It's an easy system to game
>It makes posts less authentic and more "ego-driven"
>People making the software tend not to interact that way, nor a lot of people using it
>It might be possible, but it'd need to be done in a clever way to not damage the community.

Mhm, was going to mention that a lot of old PS1 games were still 2D. Though Ridge Racer was '94 and looked pretty damn good for the time.
I also think it's important to note that there's a distinction between going to the arcade and playing at home though, some people didn't go to or have access to arcades so you weren't able to see the latest and greatest light-gun stuff.
Mario 64 I've only ever heard good things about when people talk about it's released. If I have my history correct it pretty much set the standard for 3D platformers, right? Like it was the first and immediately perfected it.
Say what you want about Nintendo they knew how to make a good fuckin' game.

I hate you. Not only for subjecting me to this but because mine isn't much better right now and I feel called out.

Epic, what was the jump like from 16-bit 2D graphics to 32bit 3D? Genuinely curious as it was just before my time, I'm afraid! :(

Oooh, to me older racing games always had this "vibe" to them that kind of got lost to the newer arcade / sim games.
Like, the vibrant color palettes and almost "attitude" behind them felt a lot more "cool". Original Outrun and Daytona USA are good example too, I think. Nothing's ever replicated the feeling those games give!
As a more personal example (and quite an obscure game, at that!) Kotobuki Grand Prix had a cool vibe to it too! :D
I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to answer by the way, it's really cool of you, dude!

I once had a job with a REALLY fucked server rack, sorry I never got to take pictures!
To give some context: It had two UPSs for about 20 or so servers. One of them, as it turns out, had NOTHING plugged into it -- both power supplies for ALL the servers were going into a single UPS.
That did not end well.

There is something oddly chill about it. One time my main PC had crapped out so I had ALL my shit plugged into a laptop. Like, all 8 ports were running on this poor underpowered Lenovo running Linux (because Windows quite literally wouldn't run on it)
That kind of stuff always remind me of the the Sega Genesis:
