Oooh, to me older racing games always had this "vibe" to them that kind of got lost to the newer arcade / sim games.

Like, the vibrant color palettes and almost "attitude" behind them felt a lot more "cool". Original Outrun and Daytona USA are good example too, I think. Nothing's ever replicated the feeling those games give!

As a more personal example (and quite an obscure game, at that!) Kotobuki Grand Prix had a cool vibe to it too! :D
