@inthehands Wyo actually used to be a donor state. At onetime, we had so much in the coffers, they were considering on giving checks to everyone. And then honestly, Biden killed our gas industry, and we never recovered which let MAGA usurp the state. "That square state..they're doing things right. Let's not let them do that" is kinda what happened. We're a little a little bitter about it.

"breaking laws" doesn't always mean "arrest", and in most cases it doesn't result in arrest. It's only results that way if the behavior is problematic. Cops are busy dudes, and arresting someone and driving across town to put them in jail is a huge pain when there are dozens of other calls. I was having coffee with a cop friend, and asked what would happen if I stole a drink at the store we were at. He said he'd make me either give it back, or pay for it, and document it as a warning. #trump

And at various times in CBS's history, even their CEO doesn't know what the episode is about till it airs. And this is a very powerful tactic for CBS as a highly respected news agency. @thomasfuchs so despite being very into @algernon amazing project these days. My degree is actually CompSci minor neurobiology because I wanted to do AI. There is a right way to do AI which is being done in research universities, and then the wrong way which is being done commercially. And because of this there will always be this cycle of good tech to enshttification. It's the enshittification that makes people money. NOT the actual technology. Research AI doesn't even work the same way.
