Proton is not controlled by any individual, but by the non-profit Proton Foundation, which is based in Switzerland and politically neutral.

It's also worth noting Proton is controlled by a non-profit foundation based in neutral Switzerland, and not by any specific individuals.

Unlike Big Tech, Proton will not comply with subpoenas from the incoming Trump administration (just like we refused all subpoenas from the Biden administration), as it would be illegal under Article 271 of the Swiss criminal code.
