@rysiek The basic underlying problem with LLMs is that systems incorporating them far too often have no separation between data and control streams.

@rysiek I think it's possible to separate data from control in systems using LLMs, but that requires, y'know, engineering and architecting for that. And the whole point of using an LLM is to remove the need for system engineers and architects.

Either copyright is fake and we are all free to torrent everything freely, or OpenAI/Anthropic/XAI/etc. should simply be entirely destroyed by lawsuits and all their funds be used to compensate copyrights holders worldwide, together with massive amounts of money from each of Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and many others.

@rasmusfleischer Odd Lots har en hel del intressanta avsnitt, men jag blir ibland vansinnig över alla deras blinda fläckar och alla aspekter och ämnen som helt enkelt inte finns i deras begreppsvärld.

Saw someone on Twitter ask if 'we can change locks on the Whitehouse while he's gone' and like yes, timing a coup to when the head of state is out of the country and will have a hard time reacting in time is absolutely a time-honored tradition, and you'd better start some serious planning and organising to do one.

@dalias I don't know, I'm not deep in the field, but Signal is just one of those companies which continually has made choices that baffle me. Tying user ID to phone numbers and leaking Signal usage through contact lists, refusing federation and secure distribution through f-droid, implementing Stories and fucking cryptocurrency integration instead of useful group chat features (moderation tools, subchannels).. @rysiek

@rysiek Yeah no shit. I'm not sure how I feel about Signal having this kind of honestly quite shoddy security engineering. The safest device is the one you don't use, and the most useful device is the one everyone can access to do everything, but to me this feels very much like another case of Signal wanting to have their cake (marketing themselves as critical security infra for dissidents) and eat it too (making usability tradeoffs that don't support that threat model).. @dalias

@rysiek They didn't already do that!? You could just link devices from scanning a QR code with no further interaction!?
