@thomasfuchs I have great respect for software developers. But there is a certain tendency among them to underestimate the complexity of other fields of human endeavour, to put it mildly.

While I wasn’t of much use during the process (unless you count making tea), I did learn a few things. One of them was: if a birth is progressing this rapidly (six minutes, you say?), then mother and baby will usually be fine.
Still, I keep my light set just a little higher, so as to shine into the windows of cars, increasing the chance that the drivers will actually perceive me before running me over.
