I was *this close* to believing that AI might sometimes be a somewhat useful tool for something
and then I had Copilot generate a reference architecture for an IT system, and it´s completely unusable bullshit

Now that the kids are a little older, my wife and I are realizing, with fascination, just how absolutely exhausting it´s been to Always Have Our Shit Together At All Times, come what may.
It´s good to be able to relax a little.
I guess what I mean to say is:
If you´re caring for young kid(s); and you´re feeling exhausted and overwhelmed; don´t feel bad about that.
You´re NOT a bad parent or carer for being tired. You´re doing all you can. And almost always, that will be enough. 🍀
My workplace is rolling out Microsoft’s Copilot to all of us.
It’s almost satisfying to realize that I’ll never have to waste another ounce of creativity on corporate bullshit, since i can now generate it in an automated fashion.
Äh? Surft Media Markt / Saturn jetzt voll auf der Retro-Welle?
@anneroth Wenn keine Autos fahren, könnten auch meine jüngeren Kinder problemlos mit dem Rad zu all ihren Events fahren.
Good morning!
I had an extra day off on Friday. Let´s see what wonders await in my inbox.
Plus: if someone has even a slight foreign accent, hardly anyone will be surprised if they get a word’s gender wrong. We know it’s difficult!
In actual conversations, the wrong article / gender almost never is a barrier to understanding. (We can come up with edge cases, but they don’t really matter.)
Your time and energy is probably better invested in learning grammar and vocabulary.
@Daniel_Pagenstecher Bin sonst kein religiöser Mensch, aber da wäre ich sofort dabei.

@mxmehl yeah, I’ll probably go with „key resource risk“ or something.
Thanks!
Good morning!
Does anyone know the business lingo synonym for "bus factor"?
@baldur "The end of coding" just means that all the programmers that may get fired today will soon be re-hired as consultants in order to sort out the AI-generated trash fire.
@mcc Happy Birthday!
Here’s the green and white of a creek in the mountains.
Ran this today with a few friends. The pic is so fresh, you can hear the water roar if you hold your phone to your ear 😉
Seeing the water swirl in green and white makes me feel both relaxed and excited. 😊
@paninid I (think I) do know.
But only because I’ve looked it up several times in the past 😅
@paninid On a loosely related note:
One of the most liberating moments in my university studies was when I realized that I didn’t actually have to know lots of stuff. I merely had to know where to look it up, or find out!
@neil Not wishing to contradict you, though I personally find that @babe is doing a perfectly chromulent job of Fediverse lawyering!
Ok, so last night’s #nighttrain trip was pretty cool, though sleep was somewhat patchy.
But leaving home last night, and simply arriving at our destination around 8am this morning?
Feels almost like magic.
OH: "Wir machen einfach so lange Meetings, bis das Problem an Altersschwäche stirbt."
A colleague asks: “Hey, where can I download your API?”
Edit: it’s a non-technical person, go easy on them
Any good suggestions for an answer? 🤪
