Ngl I don’t like when people come in with boilerplate comments in a thread that’s supposed to be about exploring first principles. Then again, people like the boilerplates and are happy with those being their first principles.
@jimmybuffettfanaccount@IAMAL_PHARIUS The USSR was cooked when the elites started fighting. Bullish for accelerationists. On the other hand, Gorbachev was weak. If Trump is strong, that could be bullish for optics gang.
@jimmybuffettfanaccount@IAMAL_PHARIUS Could see a praetorization of the Secret Service in such a scenario. Any individual office or election being low-stakes and within consensus makes them much more stable.
@CookieJarObserver Libtards can barely pretend to have independent thought, they just follow what they believe to be the correct line amongst the powers that be. In some ways that makes sense because in a just society there is reason to follow the leader, but libtards lack the capacity to see outside their society, and understand that they do not live in a just society.
@sun@deprecated_ii@MeBigbrain I don’t believe that. I’ve seen things change a lot, and I’m not even that old. The tide will turn one day and all of this will be washed away. We’ll be living in a world just like our parents did, but even better, because we’ll have learned from our mistakes. The future is hopeful. Darkest before dawn, as they say.
@sun@deprecated_ii@MeBigbrain Yeah. It’s proof this stuff is pure downside. Supposed benefits to GDP or food are just lies. I think they’ll pull out of it though. They are basically the greatest culture in the world right now, and they’re very collectivist. This would not be their first rodeo with expelling foreigners, so to speak.
@sun@deprecated_ii@MeBigbrain That’s disturbing. This shit is always top-down. Surprised there hasn’t been an Abe-like attempt against whoever’s behind this.
