It would be pretty neat if US foreign policy, which has in the grand scope operated outside of party politics pursuing the same goals regardless of which team is in office, becomes fully fractured and politicized on party lines and so potentially every 4 years every conflict zone on earth (except Israel ofc we still have to be a little realistic when we fantasize) gets mixed up from America stabbing its current allies in the back and switching sides and as a consequence not only does the American regime become even more hated internationally than it already is, domestically election years turn into warzones because with the outcome of their war hinging on the US election every faction of every conflict will be trying to assassinate candidates of the party that backs the other side to ensure the party that backs their side wins.

@jimmybuffettfanaccount @IAMAL_PHARIUS Could see a praetorization of the Secret Service in such a scenario. Any individual office or election being low-stakes and within consensus makes them much more stable.

@jimmybuffettfanaccount @IAMAL_PHARIUS The USSR was cooked when the elites started fighting. Bullish for accelerationists. On the other hand, Gorbachev was weak. If Trump is strong, that could be bullish for optics gang.

@griffith @jimmybuffettfanaccount What kills a lot of empires is sudden change. Us system if they didnt release covid, printed double of what they had in existing money, then turned the rates up to 30 year highs, would have been fine. All they needed to do was ask europe japan and china to buy more usd. The inertia would have keep everything working as intended, corrupt and weak as it is.
Then comes trump at the tail end of easy money throwing policy reform around like his life depends on it. Suddenly "our dollar strong because aircraft carriers" doesnt do the job anymore. People get curious and actually checks. -
