This has been going on in my country after the far-right got elected.

They will sometimes "leak" something they'll do, people will get worked up, they'll declare it "fake news", and later will do it. By then people will be confused as to what happened.

I'm trans, so nothing against it, but I do think that adding too many fixed options is not a good idea.

Mastodon (unsure about other AP clients) offers a bunch of custom fields. Maybe those can be extended a bit in quantity, so people can have like 8-10 custom fields and put whatever they want, have the top 2 show up in a summarized fetch of the user. (I think the vanilla desktop UI does this.)

I love this aspect of the Fediverse more than anything. I'm from South America but I grew up in the online anglosphere, and one of the worst things is to be told by Big Tech what posts I should be seeing or interacting with because of where I live.

It's been my major pet peeve of looking things up. I've also come across this in other websites, although it's easier to tell them to stop being asses outside of SO.

But it's typical. "I need to do X" and invariably there's people saying "why would you do X?"

It's much simpler than that. All these far-right parties are the same. They have "programs" and "values" until they are in power, then they do whatever they want as long as it keeps them in power and rich.

Musk wants them all to give him cheap resources and to get rid of his competitors "legally". He will finance them and they will ensure his companies are the only ones available to the public.

I was really into it for a while, going to the r/asoiaf subreddit to debate a lot of wild theories. I'm generally not into podcasts, but I listened to several ASOIAF-related ones. I have a dog named after a character. The whole thing.

No, but I was kind of in the background for a political act. One of those "we had this building done, here's a bunch of people using it" sort of thing. I was not in the party, though I often agreed with their stuff. I did legitimately use the building, so I wasn't taken there to pretend I was part of it.

Edit: now that I think about it, I was asked to speak with the top politician as part of the event, but I refused, so they had someone else do that.
