I really hate that words like
different, weird, geek, have become so pejorative. I'll say "that woman is like the biggest cooler geek, she's got like 40 old picnic coolers and makes her own ones too" and it's a total compliment. People say "I don't get what's so great about old coolers"
I'm thinking I'm not into them that much either, but that's not the point. it's cool that she is, and she's happy about it. More happiness is always better. Geeks and weirdos make the world better

our society puts a price on human life every single day. not just in healthcare, but in almost everything. It's also not necessarily bad either. We could spend a million dollars on something that saves a single life. or we could spend that million on something that would save hundreds.

Well the very ranchers and farmers that are benefiting from it would absolutely call any large scale government project that benefited others a socialism and big government. They fancy themselves as self made rugged individualists.

been driving through deep deep red areas in OR , ID & UT and just can't help but notice all the big government socialism in the form of large scale irrigation projects.
