Okay, so this is going to sound a bit like a broken record for me (and probably predictable), so sorry in advance about that but I feel like I just need to do this.

I’m going to stop streaming again. Yeah, I know, it’s the third time now I’ve said it but this time it’s for good. No promises of the occasional stream in the future or anything like that. I’m done this time around.

Although I do enjoy it most of the time, I feel like I can’t help but put too much pressure on myself and the stress that causes adds up over time to the point that sometimes I really don’t feel like going live. I’m an introvert (you may know that lol) and there’s only so much I can put myself out there before I feel like I need to hide away again. 😆

Thank you though. I really do appreciate everyone that has joined in on my streams and had fun, anyone that has followed and subscribed, and supported me in anyway over the years I’ve been streaming on and off for.

Anyway yeah, so that’s it. Please make sure to unsubscribe on my channel if you have it set to renew automatically so it doesn’t charge you. Jeff Bezos doesn’t need anymore money tbh. He has enough yachts!

To be fair, I don’t mind games being delayed if they need more time. I’d rather play a game that works and is polished rather than a broken mess.

@binarydigit Ah okay that makes sense. It’s hard to give up the kind of features Google Photos provides. I’ve been trying to find a service that offers similar features and at a similar price point, but I just don’t think there is one.

I was looking at self hosting Immich, but I found that a pain to even get going, especially for someone not overly experienced with Linux.

@binarydigit Very interested to hear how you get on with Mega.io and their photo service. Haven’t heard of them before, but I’m also looking into ways to leave Google Photos behind and it’s not easy to find something that compares.

I've found an issue on the Pixelfed GitHub which explains the steps to reproduce. This happens across multiple apps, including Impressia and Mona.

@impressia @dansup @antti This issue also happens with pixey.org. I can’t currently log into my @jamie account on Impressia. I can on the Pixelfed app though. 🤔

Streamer.bot is a great tool for streamers on the big platforms like Twitch and YouTube (I use it myself!), but it lacks official support for open source platforms like #Owncast and it would be great to see this added.

That's why I've submitted a suggestion for it on their ideas page, and it would great if you could vote as well! It's only got a single lonely vote which I'm pretty sure is mine for suggesting it. 😅

Looking to stop using #Gmail as my primary email service.

Has anyone used #Tuta (was #Tutanota)? It seems like they offer a good service. Any issues with it I should be aware of?

Obviously, changing email providers is no small task, so I want do as much as I can to make sure I'm picking the right service. Also plan on using a custom domain so I guess that'll make a switch in the future much easier.

The mobile app is a bit bare bones at the moment though. Looking forward to seeing improvements on that front though.

I may have migrated my #Pixelfed account yesterday, but the web interface of #Vernissage is a delight to use in comparison! It's very clean and I'm really liking it!

I’m not a heavy user of it by any means, but it’s closest I’ve used to Notion. Notes can be saved completely locally if you want and it doesn’t shove AI down your throat.

I think I might stop posting Go-Live posts on socials and keep it to just Twitch and Discord. Not sure what it is but I feel so cringey sending these out every time.

What are your thoughts on Go-Live posts?

I need do something more with my life than just work in IT. It's so mentally draining and sometimes I just have no motivation to do anything after finishing work.

Problem is, as like most of my life, I've got no idea what I want to do or where to start even figuring that out. And then there is a financial issue that comes with probably needing to start from the bottom of then ladder again.

I end up brushing these feelings off and carrying on as usual. Rinse and repeat. 🙃

#EmuDeck is pretty damn cool and runs very well. I’ve got this neat theme running in #EmulationStation.

I’ve decided to download all of the #Zelda games, except for BotW and TotK as I haven’t got the means to set up Switch emulation. Never saw them as my kind of games, but as I’ve never played any of them I thought I’d give them a go.

@BeAware I wonder if they don’t add the local only feature because that then promotes instances to only talk amongst themselves. I know it’s possible in other ways, but that would be front and centre.

I know what you mean with the migration “feature”. It’s not exactly a simple process and yeah, you do end up losing followers. I recently migrated and lost about 8-10%. 🙃
