    hilariously, this drive lived in someone's NAS, in RAID. they ended up selling the whole thing together, maybe they weren't happy with the slow writes? :p

    @icedquinn i intend to use it for mostly just that. Storing lots of media, as well as the occasional RPGmaker game or VN that doesn't need to be updated.

    Though, tbh, I didn't know what they were until after I already bought the thing. I jumped the gun a bit because it was already a good deal and I managed to haggle it down on top of that

    bought myself a used 8tb barracuda drive. its an SMR drive so it took a minute to transfer some of my existing data to it, but now that its set up it seems to run fine. i had to replace my 1tb internal with it since even though theres a slot for a 2nd 3.5 inch drive in my case, dell is a bastard and the sata cable and hdd caddy together are like $20. not doing that.

    so now my 1tb drive is chilling in a drawer, the 1tb external ive had living under my pc is also chilling in a drawer, and life is comfy.

    I wanna know what happened between y'all
    When I got a craving for fedi a while back (while I still thought FSE was offline), I joined NCD because I vaguely remembered it, and the three other instances I remembered (including ones where you had alts) werent accepting new signups
    Turns out I forgot NCD is fulla wignats, so I left. Still, curious to know what happened :acelevy:

    @icedquinn this is unironically in the cia (FBI?) playbook for dismantling grassroots organizations. You go in and you create pointless reasons for infighting. For example, now you have people fighting each other over whether it's "homeless" or "unhoused individual." You also send people in to be lazy incompetent managers, have those managers promote idiots, etc

    But yeah, the "invent words for people to fight over so they can't come together and focus on real change" is a real thing they do

    I was so confused about what you meant but I gotchu now
    I never said free speech is the most important issue to me, but it's definitely up there. Reproductive rights are too, and do influence who I'm voting for in local elections. But, the issue of constitutional rights are inherently more important to me than others, because America has backed itself into a corner where the constitution is essentially immutable (for better or for worse), and any attempts made to change it have been to weaken the rights enshrined in it. I fully believe an attack on any right is an attack on all of them, so not an inch must be given (ie on speech regulation and firearms) lest it be used as precedent/an excuse to attack the rest.

    Actively this. Both are bad for free speech IMHO but Kamala is more overt about it, more institutional
    I am also in a blue state so it doesn't matter, and will be voting for whatever I think is funniest when I'm filling out the ballot. Trump spelled backwards maybe

    look, i'm not so naiive to believe that everything can be all hunky dory and each individual will work towards the betterment of his country, his neighbor, and himself if there is not at the least the threat of violence
    i understand niggers&wiggers exist.
    i just don't agree about the level of violence, the frequency of violence, and the type of violence that is acceptable.
    What is acceptable changes based on country and where a country is in it's development, but as much as I sometimes feel like "boy would it be good to kill all those retards and have a good country without problems," the reality is that is never acceptable
