@selzero @Lydie Actually Jesus said become the poor. The Greek word used for poor in the gospels doesn't mean "working poor". It means "destitute". Thus why there are stories about him telling potential followers to literally give everything they owned away.

Jesus wasn't a capitalist and he didn't believe in universal basic income. He was talking about surviving by means of people working together to supply their needs. He actually commanded followers to carry no money.
